re: Why is Westbrook much more likable than Harden and Lebron? - LABred08
For me, its the fact that he is a killer. The last of them, 2 I think. Honestly, I think thats why Jordan likes him so much and made him the face of his brand. Players who go out there and play hard, dont bi*ch and complain about more than whats debatable on the floor, doesnt try to find easy paths ...

re: Alexandria made its bid to regain the Top 28 today - LABred08
It now seats 10,800, 8,900 for Basketball. If you go back and look at the pics I posted which are from a wider angle you can see how many seats are actually still folded in. This was for the RRAC tournament, not a lot of people expected as most of the conference are teams from out of state. It would...
In texas the UIL finals are always (or were at least) at the Erwin Center in Austin on UT.
But that makes so much sense. Yes, UT is the flagship school but more importantly, Austin is the largest geographical city to the center of the state and sits in the center of the Texas Tri...

re: Alexandria made its bid to regain the Top 28 today - LABred08
But I-49 means nothing to the Monroe area. Its still a 3 hour drive from Shreveport to Lafayette and 3 and a half from Monroe to Lafayette. Think about the tourney this year. You only had 1 big gate, the Peabody/ Washington Marion back to back. Now look at the opportunities that could have been....

re: Why isnt Larry Cordaro getting more attention! - LABred08
Just FYI, they have beaten D-1 in state teams in the last 3 years and have legit D-1 guys on the squad. Don't undersell Cordaro, he's done great things at LSUA and as a recruiter at Southeastern....
ETA Does anyone know when the current contract is up with Lake Charles? I really wish the Cajun Dome could get this event back to Lafayette. The product, and location was so much better. Especially now with the Cajun Dome being renovated.
They should be voting on it this summer. I ...

re: Is BLM Dead? - LABred08
I can only hope so. It's nothing but an organized, guilt driven, cash harvesting reparation machine. Many parallels between BLM and Gloria Steinem's little social club.
Well sh!t, we do deserve reparations. Just ask the U.N. We'll never get em but hell, 150 years later would b...

Don't overlook Grambling. They almost beat Arizona at Arizona last year, and that was their only loss of 14 games last year. They'll be pumped and ready, and wanting that win....

re: Nigerians and slavery - LABred08
Just for the information of whomever, this was brought up by. Several Kings and Queens fought against the slave trade in Africa, some like the Nigerians did sell others for profit or to protect their own from war and capture. Here you go some names: King Ansah of Ghana King Nzenga Maremba King...

re: Is racism & bigotry more of a generational thing? - LABred08
Younger blacks are pretty racist.
If you think that, you need to really go back and check the past generations. They were wayyyyyyy more racist. They talked about killing white men for the hell of it. Wouldn't do it but push came to shove would. Young black men are worried about 2...

re: Is racism & bigotry more of a generational thing? - LABred08
I mean it's plenty of problems and all of em aren't race, but repeatedly on this board particularly that's what you see. Minority groups belittled because they aren't straight and white. It's almost like a difference of opinion or being different is wrong and it's only fear that drives that. I do...

re: Is racism & bigotry more of a generational thing? - LABred08
Now, as a young black man, this is how I always saw it. It's not generational. It's not restricted to color. It's either taught or its acquired through living. I've been called the N-word by a 3-year-old white girl, as sweet as she wanted to be. I couldn't even be mad. She has no idea what all that ...
Saying African Americans are better at basketball and commit more crimes as a percentage of their population than whites isn't racist for instance, they are just facts. Just like saying most white collar criminals are Caucasian and most illegal immigrants are Hispanic.
But accordi...

re: Dear White People: It's time to cancel your Netflix account - LABred08
Because I don't want to support that type of content.
So you're intolerant of satire that makes fun of black and white racism toward each other. Does that mean you're not supportive of the gay cinema that's advertised through or made by Netflix? All of this is just idiocy becau...

re: Dear White People: It's time to cancel your Netflix account - LABred08
What's funny to me in this is that nobody on here has actually looked at the movie, which is the pre-cursor to the show, and has been on Netflix for like 2 years now but are complaining just because of the title. Why is it a problem not that Netflix made a spinoff of the movie, even though they a...

re: LA high school basketball discussion - LABred08
Peabody had a fantastic week, really revving up for playoff time. Big Tune-up Game against Tioga at the end of district play. Last week, Kevin Norman had 36pts and 15 rebs on Tuesday. I don't know if he is not pursuing a collegiate basketball career or not but I haven't heard anybody recruiting h...
