Also in the 90's the Winnsboro Wildcats had some talent!

The most talented of them all was juemichael young from Hammond supposedly. I heard stories that he was absolutely unguardable in practice, just couldn't stay out of trouble. I saw him play in high school and he was definitely NBA material. Don't forget Chris Duhon from salmen that played at Duke

I heard some stories about how great Jemichael Young was. FYI he has a daughter who is AMAZING. She's been playing HS ball since her 7th grade year, was all district 7th and 8th grade year. She's now in the 9th grade at Loranger teams leading scorer. She's 5'9 and slapping the backboard after layups.

He was a starter for at least a couple of years. He dressed varsity as a freshman and probably came off the bench as a sophomore.

I'm sure you're right. A long time ago and all - I do remember the crowd busting up laughing as Capitol inserted Michael Jordan late in games though.

Played briley in high school. Could shoot the lights out.

Demond Mallet from leesville was really good. Played against tierre brown and ben perkins. Both were really good.

Best team i remember in this timeframe though had to be 95-96 Atlanta High School team (Class C)

any discussion of 1990's basketball teams that doesn't include Zwolle is incomplete. 7 straight state titles, some in 2a and some in B. Unreal talent on those squads. I coached the 1991 All Star game and had Tony Cutright and Carlos Crawford from Zwolle on that squad; along with Paul Marshall, Clarence Ceasar and several other D-1 players. Overall, high school basketball in Louisiana is so much weaker today that it's not even funny.

For starters, frick you.

Secondly, Slocum turned pro wrestler and got busted for roids, being engaged to two women and beating one...thats what i call Big. Dumb. Whitey.

I've been on topic the whole thread, prick, unlike you who brought up players that didn't even play high school ball in LA, much less in the late 90s as the thread stated from the get go. So, you were actually the first to go "off topic", stupid.

Andy Slocum was engaged to two women, arrested for beating one, and busted for roids

I would say you and Slocum are the mouth breathers, a-hole.

Andre Brown from Vandebilt Catholic was a stud in the early 90's

Played against him all throughout high school. He was a stud and constantly gave us 30-40 pts. But that was all Vandy had then. I thinnk He ended up at nicholls st after leaving Seton Hall.

Other great players before and around my time:

Willie Jackson @ Sibley 1978
Michael Cutright @ Zwolle 1988? He was the best high school player I ever saw along with
Randy Livingston @ Newman
Me @ Arnaudville 1986

Larry Hall from North DeSoto was a good player in the late 90's. Had an eye injury that cut his playing days short.

Im from Zwolle and they did have a great run under Bert West and had great players. My uncle was on the 85 team that won state and MC#5 was one of the best HS players to witness play.

That's funny because in a summer league game VC, a small 1A private busted their arse at Comeaux.

Rogers Washington was the best I ever played against. Colis Temple was probably 2nd, maybe Ed Rueban from ESA.

But that '97 Southern Lab team was unreal. Shannon Foreman and co could ball.
