but it’s hard to tell because the teams they played were really really bad.

Dutchtown has Tennessee commit Dylan Sampson who can break it on any play. But he's been banged up a lot and they don't have much else.

St. Amant in round 2 runs the spread and has a good senior QB. Their defense is a mystery. They're good some games and terrible in others.

I am not saying WM is better than Zachary but they will not be intimidated. Just ask Ruston.

Hopefully East Jefferson can come through for us like East Ascension came through for Zachary. A potential trip to Ouachita is something I don't want for my team.

Chalmette hosts Haughton tonight and I just saw the following facts posted for Chalmette

First home playoff game since 2004
First home 5A playoff game
First home playoff game in the highest classification since 1968
First time hosting a North LA team since 1968

Anyone have a good scouting report on Haughton? I know they are 5-5 and were 3-4 in district.

They have one good win (Natchitoches Central). Other than that just by scanning their scores, they look like a below average team.

Also one of their players died during the season, so I'm sure that had a big impact on them.

In the case where Seattle played the Saints. Seattle had a losing record, but won their division. Division champs go to the playoffs, that's the rules and that's fair. Otherwise, division should not exist. (Which I am for BTW or at least 2 big divisions).

3-5A as a whole is probably weaker than it’s ever been. I don’t think anyone but Acadiana will win a playoff game out of that district. Acadiana had serious issues running against the 3 teams they actually played that were worth a shite and only scored like 20 points total those three games. But once district started I think they averaged over 50 points a game. It’s possible that the line got more cohesive and the young qb grew up a little, but it’s hard to tell because the teams they played were really really bad.

well kind of what happens when over 50% of the area is devasted by hurricanes. Will be a few years before most of the LC teams fully recover. Go to remember, barbe didnt even have a football season last year.

the smaller 3a schools took less damage and recovered quicker. but in general LCCP is taking a lot of kids that use to go to Barbe and Lagrange.

Is this the only time in recent memory/history that a 32 seed has beaten the number one seeded team (ED White) in the playoffs ?

Central won their district that year resulting in a bump of # 32 Chalmette. 5A first round game.

I think they lost their QB for the season either last week or the week before, not 100% on that, but for sure he was hurt.

Kid was a 400 lb lineman that died of natural causes, in his sleep, if I recall. Terrible tragedy.
