Well at least they don't have to play 32nd ranked West St. Mary this time.

Some public school coaches got their panties in a wad because they couldn’t beat Evangel or John Curtis.

some private schools too..... the road to the split actually started with a private school lobbying to get ECA out of 5a and keep JC out.

It has happened in the NFL and it happens in the NBA.

Now 1-8 teams? That's another story.

How does home field work in highschool? Higher seed throughout? Or is like baseball where if you didn't have a home game the game before you get one. And if you both did or didn't it goes to the higher seed.. Thanks

Round 1-Higher seed home
Round 2-Higher seed home unless team they're playing traveled week 1.
Round 3-Higher seed home unless team they're playing traveled previously and they did not.
Round 4-Higher seed home no matter what
Round 5-Dome

If there aren't upsets, the higher seed will always be at home. The problem is, there are ALWAYS upsets.

Bracket

Can someone explain to me how Rummel is ranked 6th where Curtis is ranked 7th and Holy Cross is 10th, when Rummel lost to both?

Because Rummel got a forfeit W over Brother Martin that HC and Curtis didn’t

in baseball the higher seed hosts every round now

You’re thinking of basketball and now the only round a lower seed can host in basketball is round 2

Power ratings. Brackets are based on power ratings which account for a team’s wins & win % as well as the win % of opponents. Beating someone head-to-head doesn’t mean dick when seeding for the playoffs. If you want a high power rating you need to win and then have some decent non-district opponents.

Not completely right here. The team that traveled more in the previous two rounds hosts. So a lower seed that traveled in both the bi-district and regional rounds would get to host if their opponent only traveled in one of the first two rounds.

It was also led by the principal at Many and David Feaster. They bitched for years about it. They made Evangel and Curtis okay at their enrollment classifications to start with. That meant they played teams that had 20 players or so. The coaches fragile egos couldn’t handle getting beaten. They have their kids a hell of message, that they weren’t good enough to compete. Works every time, get rid of the best competition and win.

So, if Brother Martin is "traveling" to Rummel this week, does that mean they can possibly host Byrd next week? Or will the game be in Shreveport (Byrd has a 1st round bye)
