The Head Coach and the Coach who obtained the password should be fired.
Any coach who lied to the LHSAA investigator should be fired.
The game should be forfeited.
Destrehan should withdraw itself from the playoffs for this season.
The LHSAA investigator should be disciplined.

I agree with everything you said!
However, we all know Destrehan will do anything to get the smallest punishment possible.

I'll say it...
frick Destrehan. Shouldn't have cheated.

Hard to argue with any of those, but unlikely to see penalties that severe IMO.

Overbrook
Tough penalties in that list. Unsure if I could agree with #4 as I am uncertain that players should suffer the wrath of their coach's bad decisions.
Based upon history, the LHSAA does not have the guts to go ahead with your #3 and #5, although I can possibly see #3 happening if the executive committee receives enough pressure from the LHSAA members. #5 will never happen.
# 1, 2 and 4 will be up to the St. Charles School Board and Superintendent. If they are truly in place for the good of the school system, they would agree with your three recommendations.

Yes, but idk that the coaches should be fired, and I definitely don't think destrehan should be held out of the playoffs, but I'm probably biased.

Regardless of what happens, all of this will put Destrehan in the negative light.
I wonder if future opponents for them will be cautious about game films and everything?
I know what happened is a rare case but crazy things do happen.

I am to willing to bet all teams they have played this year has gone back to their HUDL accounts to see if a player or coach's account has been logged into for an extended period of time the week or two before their game with Destrehan.
Posted on 10/29/13 at 11:48 pm to LC412000
I wasn't aware of this HUDL thing till today, but you're probably right.
Posted on 10/29/13 at 11:50 pm to Kegg
Yea, this HUDL thing seems like this type of instance was destined to happen. This in no way makes it right, but on high school football teams you always have players kicked off and wanted to get back at the coach.

I like idea and concept but it obviously has flaws.
I guess no one was banking on something like this happening.

Yea, I think it's useful, coaches just need to remember to remove players from the system if they are kicked off the team.

I think it is important to note that the kid involved left the team of his own will. He was not kicked off.

It's crazy to think if Destrehan has to forfeit the game, it will be technically because a SL player decided to quit the team.
Without the player quitting, none of this happens.

Bet that kid takes a sick day tomorrow... or maybe a sick rest of the year.
Posted on 10/30/13 at 12:03 am to Kegg
True, but the coach shouldn't have asked for the password.. simple as that.
Posted on 10/30/13 at 12:06 am to GEAUXmedic
You're right.
The coach shouldn't have asked and the player shouldn't have given the password.

I hope nothing happens to this kid. He made a mistake in judgement, what kids don't? This whole incident was initiated by an adult. This is a good example of why there are laws to protect children from manipulative adults.
