re: Brother Martin High School's QB - clhstrojans
well he certainly got a much better education, so there's that
He could have just gone a minute away to Vandy for that or EDW, but hey they didn't need a QB at the time. ...

re: Private school reps met to discuss leaving LHSAA - clhstrojans
so why in your opinion would Central and Zachary be thinking about it?
Doesn't Central get kids from anywhere in the parish? They might just be worried that the LHSAA will decide to crack down on that if there are no more private schools to worry about and that would leave them out...

re: Private school reps met to discuss leaving LHSAA - clhstrojans
that's why the more schools they get, the more schools will come..
They're not going to get enough to go when 182 schools voted for the split. The 44 public schools that voted against it aren't going to leave the public school rivalries, and they especially won't leave in the highe...

re: What schools in LA have the best fan support? - clhstrojans
No atmosphere for any high school football game in Louisiana compares to Saint Amant verses EA. When those two get together, there are 12,000 insane fans making mayhem in the stands...plus there's jambalaya
There is no way in hell either of those schools could fit 12,000 fans in t...

re: What schools in LA have the best fan support? - clhstrojans
The bigger publics that are usually good like WM, Barbe, Acadiana, Destrehan, Hahnville, Dutchtown and some of the Northshore schools draw big crowds and travel. Jesuit, BM, Rummel, St. Aug, St. Thomas More, Catholic High all have big followings.
I've only been to Acadiana once s...

re: LHSAA Split also approved for baseball, basketball, and softball. Like football. - clhstrojans
I'm not going to rehash the same old shite again.. Not worth trying to convince people that have no desire to actually work towards a solution. I've said for 3 years I hope the selects don't abandon the association but with today's move and proposed amendment, the inevitable solution is a spli...
Example: kid wants to go to Catholic because his dad went there, it's a great education, and he likes the all boy atmosphere. He can't play Frisbee golf or whatever other sport he wants to play because he lives outside of some mythical area drawn up by the lhsaa.
Well he can move...
Nice attitude.
You are the one wanting them to form their own organization, not me.
Plenty of select schools in my area
Well that's nice for you, many other private schools aren't so lucky.
Have fun playing with shitty officials
 I'm f...

re: LHSAA Split also approved for baseball, basketball, and softball. Like football. - clhstrojans
You could also just give private schools zones just like public's. Anybody could attend, but to play sports you have to live in that zone. The more kids the school is willing to enroll the bigger the zone they get to pull from. That way you have schools like Rummel, Jesuit, BM who are willing to...

re: LHSAA Split also approved for baseball, basketball, and softball. Like football. - clhstrojans
that screws kids in Metairie who live near Ridgewood, Ecole Classique, etc...
Why? Because you don't get to choose to go to a football factory? Public school kids don't get to choose to go to a football factory either. They go to the school they're zoned to. Now if a school ...

re: LHSAA Split also approved for baseball, basketball, and softball. Like football. - clhstrojans
If someone LEGITIMATELY moves to play for a private school I have no problem what so ever, because public school have that right too. I do have a problem with players moving in with coaches to go to a certain school, or driving from 50-100 miles around to go to a certain school, because public schoo...

re: LHSAA Split also approved for baseball, basketball, and softball. Like football. - clhstrojans
The issue is when you stop allowing private school kids from outside the district to play sports, you put their parents between a rock and a hard place. Either send my kid to a rough school, send my kid to a private school and he can't play sports, or move.
Simple, you make a ru...
If that were true, we're supposed to think that those would be bad things? Helping kids from rough backgrounds make it in life? But those evil kids are stealing wooden plaques from Many and Winnfield! Oh the horror!
It's a bad thing when you're doing it to fuel your football facto...
