Wasn't raised on the NBA. No city that I particularly identify with when it comes to NBA teams and never got into it so therefore I don't enjoy watching.

College basketball I was raised on and grew up watching. I went to Auburn and enjoyed going to the games and therefore I strongly identify with them and watch every game.

This concept isn't that hard to understand. I don't care whether the on court product is better or worse. I simply care for the team I love. So I enjoy watching my team and similar teams play

I am 48 and when I was growing up College bball was my favorite sport. The sport has been decimated by players leaving early thus the sport is not as watchable, especially in season. I love basketall and played at a small college and most of my friends are employed as high school coaches and I can tell you about 95% of them do not watch the NBA. I can tell you that I also like football and watch a ton of college games but if the Saints aren't playing I almost never watch the NFL. FWIW I know a lot of guys like me.

So if I prefer college football over NFL that means I don't like football?

The NBA is too closely tied to pop culture and it's too personality driven. I've been to a few NBA games and the effort was lacking.

I prefer college sports to pro sports in general, not just NBA.

Been remarkable to see the culture shift in the past decade plus. Now it's more of a hipster league, one could say.

Was this shift before well dressed "hipsters" like Gilbert Arenas & Crittendon pulled guns on one another in a locker room & Crittendon ( true thug) eventually got hard time for murder?

The Spurs participating in the 2 lowest rated NBA finals in history had nothing to do with Duncan ,Ginobli or Parker being "thugs" or their " bad image".

College basketball has atmosphere--the Cameron Crazies, the Wisconsin student section, etc. The NBA has a bunch of celebrities and hipsters sitting courtside where they can be seen. There's no atmosphere in the NBA apart from artificially generated hype.

Better athletes in the NFL and NBA-higher level of play-doesn't matter. I'd still rather watch a college game.

so you'd rather watch vastly inferior basketball because a bunch of GDIs aren't jumping around and doing weird chants? different strokes i guess.

It wasn't just the play. The NBA had an image problem. That's why David Stern implemented a dress code.

The image of the NBA had become too thuggish, and it was turning a lot of people off.

The dress code that was in effect when Arenas & Crittendon pulled guns on one another in a NBA lockerroom?

Michael Jordan rarely stepped on the court without his gold chains when he became the League's biggest draw in the 80's.

Maybe I'm too old & missing the gang signs in that Photo of an irrelevant NBA bust & journeyman . O

This is about as silly as the clowns that believe ESPN is losing viewership because of Jamelle Hill & PC culture at the channel.

Also played/coached and I disagree big time. LBJ is possibly the GOAT. GS with Durant might be the best collection of talent ever. Harden and Westbrook are having historic seasons. We could possibly have LBJ versus the most stacked team ever in the finals. I may not miss a postseason game this year. I can't wait.

NBA basketball is boring to watch & they don't care until playoffs.

And the top talent doesn't relate to fans as much as older stars did.

Also, too much one-on-one
