The only thing flowing with a 45 second shot clock is the air flowing out of the ball. Just looking at the phrase, "45 second shot clock," gives me anxiety.

Wrong, but when you had 45 clock teams actually ran sets and it was different game. The ADD generation can't handle it but it is what it is.

I am glad they put in a clock. Want to watch a snooze fest go research Georgetown SMU in 2nd round NCAA game in 84? Thompson proved he was a prick in that game.

both good points.

and before anyone comes in talkin shite about the big teams in college basketball having too much talent. How many fricking teams had a shot at an NBA title when this year began? 3? maybe 4?

there are about 12 teams with a legit shot at winning an ncaa tourney right now, with 6 games left to play starting yesterday, and a lot more that making it to next weekend is like winning a championship

Good point. Villanova won the NC last year, Butler and Wisconsin have played for the title recently and none of those schools are known to recruit at the highest level.

From what I can tell in the NBA there are exactly two maybe three teams with a chance to win the championship yet the playoffs last for two months.

I was on the golf team in HS. The chess team in middle school. And watch 95% of every televised shot in the PGA year. I can handle some slow shite

Basketball though....can't do it. Intentionally not playing your sport is not a fun strategy to watch. They don't run more sets. They run bullshite until the shot clock gets to 7. If you need 45 seconds to run your set...you need to go the frick home.

IMO, of course.

That seems very self explanatory. They do not enjoy watching NBA games but do enjoy watching college basketball games

I'm one of those people.

Used to be a HUGE NBA fan growing up, but it went the way of WWF years ago for me. It was obvious to me even before the ref scandal. So I just quit watching.

As for college, if LSU sucks, which is often, I'll just watch the Tourney.

But I love basketball itself. Still "play" as much as my old arse can.

You are confusing things Reauxl

In the past 10 or fewer years it became iso ball it was bad. But from about 85-2010 they ran sets. Izzo killed sets as he began the over coaching thing. Once he took a team that had no business in the Final 4 it was over coaches copy coaches.

Go watch sets that IU, Michigan, Carolina, all ran they are things of beauty. UNLV even ran some great stuff, but generally did not need to.

Georgetown and Syracuse would run some stuff that was interesting and everyone still uses Wooden and Smith's stuff.

This is pretty much my sentiment. NBA and NFL do little for me. I will watch an occasional Saints game, but that's about it.

I love college basketball when Alabama is good and I'll watch a lot of games around the nation. When Alabama is not good, I only watch Alabama games. I haven't watched the NBA since Jordan retired for the second time.

I also watch a lot of college football but only watch 2 NFL games a year.

I don't see how anyone could prefer NCAA over NBA. It's so bad

NBA Playoffs >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> march madness

I don't enjoy watching majority barely better than high school talent struggle through games. It's much more fun to watch guys who have mastered the game go at it in multi game series'

Only way I could understand it is if you went to a school like KU/UK/UNC and aren't from a place with a decent NBA team

It's okay if you don't like the NBA. It's my favorite pro league but I only watch a game or two a week during the regular season. What I can't stand is when somebody says, "I don't like the NBA because its just a bunch of ISO and no defense". I can't tell you how many times I've been told that and I immediately realize they have no clue.

in this topic: a bunch of insecure pro sports fans

nothing compares to LSU football games, i dont care if its the New England Patriots on tv, of course they are better than LSU, but that doesnt make them more fun to watch

And you know this because of the many years of equal time spent living in all areas of the United States right? That's the only way you could possibly have any insight on this subject firsthand. Otherwise, you're just an idiot.

I'm fine with saying I'm an Alabama basketball fan and not a real basketball fan. It's not that I don't like all pro sports, I watch a lot of NHL and professional soccer, I just don't give a shite about the NBA or NFL.

I consider myself a "my sports fan" instead of a "sports fan" because there's a lot of leagues that I couldn't care less about.
