Exactly, you just need to know 'that crowd'. Even a college newb could call his college BM to call his twentysomething/thritysomething BM to call their upline,etc..just a few degrees of seperation will get you the ear of his locale's 1st-2nd-or-3rd largest deep pocket BM, who has either the cash, credit, and savvy, to make the proper hedges..all for a small few dime fee.

And if not, he should've been on a plane last night to LV, to go knock on Billy Walters door at Bali Hai today.

What is the purpose of betting? Just the idea of "easy money" that always makes the house richer and the average bettor poorer? I've never understood the desire to bet on something.

If at absolute worst, the kid should've inquired to Sportsbook.com's Management today, and asked about any possible way of a moderate 'Surrender Fee' or Line-of-Credit today.

This parlay guy is desperately in need of an Uncle Spiro, Uncle BW, Skip, Henry, Grande LOC,etc..today.

I suspect just like last January's BCSCG Aubie bettor, there will be the lionshare of Win and/or Hedge dinero left upon the BM's table.

I have a question for you guys.... If this guy were selling his ticket, what would you pay for it?

Anything under 95k makes you money, so.

I wish I still had my BM here in bR.... He told me he dried up last year... He was old school, pen and paper. Only problem was picks had to be in by Wednesday so you were screwed on line moves. I wish I could have one that would welcome the new millennium.

Unlike a Vegas ticket, which is via a licensed hotel/Sportsbook ownership group(Cantor,etc..), and a legal US commodity.

This guy's possible due payout is via an Offshore outfit, which can run the gamut in quality of Ownership/Management, plus you don't have control of his Account.

Without a transferable legal commodity, I'd give him nothing, even if the possible payout in his Offshore account(unlike the Vegas ticket), is tax dodger-esque depending upon the bettor.

i was thinking about this as well. if he doesnt personally have much money and is taking loans and shite to hedge (even if it's from friends or family), wont that be an absolute pain in the arse to pay back if the panthers cover and he wins the original parlay and loses the hedge?

Well, unless he can pay some of them back in Book-To-Book, and/or Sportsbook.com Account Balance transfers,etc..he possibly creates a paper trail, and will need to start cashing out in small staggered increments, incurring fees, possible taxes, etc..

That, or Sportsbook.com sends him an agent with a large filled paper bag? Joey Bag o' Donuts!

Dumb question - what does it mean to parlay in betting?

I've never done any official type gambling in sports.

You have to win more than one bet.

For example you pick the winner of 5 games.

Payouts are higher for a much lower investment. But they are sucker bets because they are hard to get that many games right.

If you've made it this far in life without the vice, stay away.
