Let's just remove whether he truly loves the side(Caro +7) as part of the equation. Even if you aren't in love with a play, you may at times toss in an isolated start time flimsy side to the last leg or two of a parlay filled with sides that you do love, just to boost the exponential payout..with hedge/middle opportunity options still out there if/when the time comes.

The carry over into MNF has always been attractive, even to professional players, as to allow another 24 hours to see where their balances and bankroll stand, and time to go about a hedge + middle swing.

Yes I get all of that. But why put a 15 teamer in in the first place if you're just planning on hedging between the 14th and 15th game? I can't understand that line of thinking.

He did 15 because it's all the games. There is one game left this week, and he now has a chance to hedge a 95k payout. It's not like he did 15 instead of 14 because of the increased payout. It was a throwaway $5 for fun. Dude is likely hedging it as much as possible, and rightfully so

Well then he's an idiot and deserves to lose.

The absolute, only reason to include the Monday night game in a parlay is if you're trying to lock in a line you think is going to move.

I was with you until this..sadly..I suspect the guy will have a uber-token amateur hedge..not a professional one.

My buddy out $100 on the Royals when they were 100-1 and hedged the WS. Cashed out right around $5000.

So he hedged his bet in half for the final series but didn't touch it for the conference championship???? I don't believe you. Or him.

I can see it. They swept the LCS so he didn't have to hedge anything and in the World Series he could wait til game 6 to hedge with +120 or so on the Giants twice.

Not sure what leads people to this conclusion. It doesn't take an experienced or savvy gambler to realize what to do in this situation

You really just don't understand this hedging concept. Sweep has nothing to do with it. He would've hedged before the ALCS played game 1.

I'm not sure how you have a 'professional' hedge on a 15 team parlay. I know a lot of professional sports gamblers and I don't know any making 15 game parlays.

If yall know anything about sportsbook.ag, then you know this guy will have a nightmare cashing out his winnings.

At best its 5k a month cashout limits.

People who bet 5 dollar 15 team parlays do not have any money to hedge and probably do not even understand what hedging is

He's clearly not a professional no one would ever make that parlay. He did it for fun. But after getting the first 14, it's obvious what to do. He should've hedged before last night too if he's smart

Gosh you're right, I'm a little new to this whole gambling thing. Explain to me why he would've hedged a 4 game baseball series before his team got to an elimination game...

Agreed. It's just that I have the same hunch that many in this thread suspect. That the $5/play entire NFL slate bettor, is a very small play size scale and/or non-sophisticated amateur bettor.

JG, do you work at South Pointe or just play and hang there a bunch? I've read many of your posts in the MSB threads.

You don't need money to hedge. You find every friend/relative who can loan you money. If that doesn't work, you find someone on Vegas to loan to you.

Look I don't think anyone is saying it was a smart bet or he's such a savvy gambler. He just got lucky AF on a terrible play. But regardless of that, he got himself into a no brain hedge that isn't hard to understand for anyone regardless of experience

I go to the South Point after the other books are closed because they only close from 4:30-5:30 in the morning. Lots of great sports minds bouncing shite back and forth at 2am, it's great.

I work at Hilton/LVH/Westgate

No, Pros stick to Four 3 team round robins, and two team NFL teasers, if dabble in those at all.

But, you damn sure can bet they hedge anything paying 20/1 or higher..

They know they have more winners up their sleeves forthcoming..they aren't gonna let the chasm between $5 and 95K..possibly yield them them only a lost Abe.
