Yes - it's never interested me outside of the fantasy football leagues I'm in. I guess that's gambling.

Every time I've ever been to a casino we just do the penny slots and spend like $20. The expensive card games don't interest me really

I've thought about opening a place up out here called The Hedge Fund that's like a payday loan place except for bettors looking to hedge. There's pretty much zero risk, zero overhead, but I've been told the casinos wouldn't let it happen.

If I am playing with serious cash then it's Vegas on a plane.

But why put a 15 teamer in in the first place if you're just planning on hedging between the 14th and 15th game? I can't understand that line of thinking.

No but I make sure we have lunch every couple of weeks or so...especially during football season. That's why I get a chuckle out of all the people who talk about 'Vegas must know something' or talking about certain reasons why lines are moving. There are so many things that go into each line.

Awesome idea, much like a structured settlement place. But, how many tickets do you really think would be coming through those the doors? 12 gm NCAA Foots seasons, 17 NFL? NCAA/NBA Hoops? MLB?

Seems like it would be dead all summer? Much like the SBs with only hardcore weekend warriors playing bad MLB lines, horses, and NBA/NHL Playoffs.

That was the other thing. It's basically all profit but how often would you get business? I know earlier in the year the MGM was exposed going into Monday night, I think Seattle was favored by 7.5 and they had 3 12 game $25 parlays at 3000 to 1 on the underdog and 8 more 8 game parlays. That's just one book, one weekend. The Seahawks ended up kicking a miracle FG with like 30 secs left to win by 10.

He's one of the good guys. Glad to see him where he now is, did great work at IP.

Does not being able to be in WG SuperContest by being an employee bother you?

No, I know many people who aren't employees here that I can trust to put their name on an entry form. Me not being in the contest has more to do with UTSA week 1 than me working here.

Last year it was a dropped INT turned TD by TAMU against Rice at the end of the first half that kept me out. I'll never forget it.

True, if you trust someone, you can proxy.

What is the UTSA Wk-1 story? I saw them vs LTU a few weeks ago for only time this season.

The most I'll spend on any contest out here is $500 so I put in a $500 2 teamer on the first week of college foots each year. If it hits I enter. Houston was only favored by 6.5 and got crushed. The deadline to enter was Saturday at 11 am so I put in another 2 teamer against UTSA because they played early and they covered against AZ. They've gone in to suck since then.

Oh well, there's always next year, it's gonna be over 1M in 2015, maybe 1.1 or 1.2

You need to get in Jay's ear about restructuring the prize payouts more evenly, and deeper, as the Contest grows.

Actually right now I'm trying to get in the new owner's ear about a WSOP style reality show centered on the contest. Follow 7 or 8 different entrants or groups as they go through their process of making picks then watching the games unfold and agonizing over meaningless drives at the end of games. Football betting is at an all time high and I think the show would be a hit and bring in a lot of pub for the hotel.

This is a great idea. Even in the oversatursted reality show market, this one would actually be entertaining and a hit if done right.

Great idea, especially if could get Frohardt Lane, Fezzik(sucked ever since the B-2-B), Ace-Ace,etc..a mix of good, flamboyant, and trainwreck,etc..all aboard.

Do you know Trent Othick? Son of coach and hoops handicapper Buddy Othick. Buddy along with Jamie Buzzard Thompson(two of Billy Walters best ever Hoops handicappers) Trent and John Gaughan's GO Productions would be a natural to pitch the idea..but their show on The Nugget purchase crashed badly.

Yeah the way I pictured it you'd have a mix of a couple experts, Fezzik would probably do it, a couple conglomerates, a couple first timers and then some wild card entries. Ideally it would air Sunday mornings before the games and you'd spend most of the time recapping the previous week and then at the end go over picks for the games about to start.

And the new owner's wife already has some reality show so he's got ins there.

Glad to see that Siegel not only is keeping the SuperBook intact, but got with Jay and assured him he intends to even improve it.

If this doesn't happen I also have a couple good friends out here who own an online casino and I'm talking to them about expanding into a sports book and running that.

I've said it before, I really wish I had moved here in my 20s. I don't plan on staying here forever but I've been here a little over 3 years and so many opportunities have just presented themself. Not to mention the girls. I still think every single male in his 20s should move here for a few years and experience it. Not because I want the city to have an influx of guys in their 20s, but because it really is kind of a Utopia where you can do whatever you want.
