Wait wait wait, the only way a receiver gets better over time is if his QB gets better?
no, who said that?

He can't practice, try harder, learn more or get in better shape?
sure, is that what happened with White? I don't know, I don't follow the Falcons.

Yes, overall a great QB makes a receiver better. A great QB with average WR will win more games and put up better numbers and an average QB with great receivers.

You said his numbers have got better since Ryan got there, I basically said most receivers numbers tend to go up over time.

Julio Jones is having a better pro career than AJ Green for one reason...his QB.

this would turn into a thread about the falcons.

A great QB can make an average WR great, while a great WR can make an average QB look great.
If you have a shitty QB though, a great WR won't make a difference.
Pretty much this. A QB is more important in the grand scheme of things so people give the QB credit, but it definitely goes both ways.

How does a QB's TE and WR (and Head Coach) make the Hall Of Fame but he get's left out?
Posted on 3/13/13 at 11:38 am to Jumbeauxlaya
His first season fully starting was with Ryan I'm pretty sure an it was obvious the 2 years prior he would be really good. Correlation without causation as both really helped each other develop but neither really caused anything.

WRs who make plays after the catch can make just about any average QB look good

A receiver can't be top notch without at least a competent QB (see Larry Fitzgerald post Warner)
But a QB without options to throw to is very limited
So both answers are half wrong

Randy Moss made Matt Cassell look like a pro bowler. But I think it can go both ways.

So, who is the Larry Fitzgerald of NFL QBs?

saying his numbers got better does not equal saying that's the only way a WR can get better.

Because he wasn't Hall worthy
What does that have to do with this discussion?

Not really a pro bowl season.
08 Matt Cassel 327 516 63.4 3,693 7.16 21 11

I really say it depends.
Brady and Peyton make their receivers better, but Calvin Johnson/Jones and White make Stafford and Ryan better in my opinion.
