You get paid handsomely to drive a car in a circle.

You're all underpaid. STFU.

Agree.

Disagree. FOH.

It means that you lose corporate earnings while you try to appeal to groups that you will make very little profit off of.

They must have a GA. Tech grad in charge of marketing.

That can't be right, that's bowling money.

And you can't be killed bowling. (mostly)

You get $50,000 just for showing up to the US Open in tennis.

Last place in US open in golf makes more too.

Yeah well that's a major. Last place in the smaller tournaments get more like 5-10k, and your run of the mill web.com event pays out about $1500 for last place

Peeing in their Stadium Pal?

(I mean, that's a long drive.

Are we there yet?)

Europe. Formula One drivers' salaries make NASCAR drivers look like some of the assholes who post "I could turn left for three hours". No, you couldn't.

I used to be a Die Hard NASCAR fan, but now I don't even care. It started when they came up with the stupid "chase" at the end of the season, and then year after year constantly changing the rules. I just got tired of trying to relearn the rules every year. Now nearly everyone gets in the Chase. NASCAR today is nothing close to what is was when I was growing up. It wasn't so much that NASCAR tried to cater to Minorities, but they tried to reach into other markets and to the casual fan. That is were I believe they forgot about their lifelong fans and began alienating them.

If they learned how to turn right every once in a while, they can make $30 million+.

Does he not understand how athletes get paid?

The more profitable the sport (in this day and age that means TV contracts) the more money the competitors get.

There's a reason pro-lacrosse players don't make dick.

Besides, the money you get from your league is not even the big money. Big money comes from sponsorship and endorsement deals which big name players sign on their own.

He's not talking about himself. Here's his quote.
quote:

“It’s a combination of all those things,” Hamlin said. “Essentially the drivers get two months off. The teams get no months off. There just has to be some kind of different revenue sharing. I’m sure this will be in some headline somewhere where ‘Denny says the drivers aren’t paid enough.’ I’m basing it off all other sports. I’m not including myself. I’m including probably the back half of the field that those drivers are risking the same amount I am, and they should be paid a hell of a lot more.

Exactly what happened.

He didn't say this?

quote:

“You’ve got the wrong guy to ask me on that, because I think we’re way underpaid on that as race car drivers. That’s a fact. I think there’s no doubt doing what we do, the schedule we have, the danger we incur every single week, NASCAR drivers should be making NBA, NFL money.

Yes he did, but I think the whole quote together shows what he's getting at. He has the money to build a 30k sq ft house, but the also-rans end up in lawsuits with the teams that run them.

Unfortunately, this googly-eyed, cocky a-hole is his own messenger so he comes off like a whining, arrogant know-it-all.
