re: H1B Visa's for Best and Brightest? Not so Much - Anfield Road
I also do not like the way these companies string their employees out and don't help them with the paperwork needed to get their green card. That is very frustrating to the foreign workers, as well. Not all of them want to stay, but these are the kinds of immigrants we want, IMO, and we need ...
Sure reads like you know what you are talking about. Fortunately, you are in the minority and very wrong. If for no other reason, US Tech workers should be thrilled President Trump has done this. NO OTHER has or would have. Americans do have a right to 'the' job. Even the existing law sta...

re: H1B Visa's for Best and Brightest? Not so Much - Anfield Road
I remember when there was a concern that all of the tech sector jobs would go "offshore". The problem with offshore jobs is that professionals in India didn't want to work through the middle of the night in their time to support American companies on their time. That was fine, as many com...

re: H1B Visa's for Best and Brightest? Not so Much - Anfield Road
Would you support an H-1B visa that was not tied to an employer? I think the reason some H-1B holders allow themselves to be "abused" is that if they lose their job, they get kicked out of the country....

re: H1B Visa's for Best and Brightest? Not so Much - Anfield Road
On the flipside, this will hurt emerging red/purple states (Texas/North Carolina for example) in favor of California. The prevailing wage is always going to be higher in California. This would mean companies in low cost of living states will have limited access to the H-1B program....

re: H1B Visa's for Best and Brightest? Not so Much - Anfield Road
I actually support Trump's moves here (assuming numbers don't decrease). For FY2017, there were around 199,000 petitions for 85,000 visas. Who gets those 85,000 visas is determined by a lottery. Wipro, Infosys, etc. flood the system with applications. As a result, companies like Google, Microsof...
But they had to continue your sponsorship correct? I mean that is pretty rare outside high demand tech jobs and academia.
That is correct. You have to find another company willing to sponsor your H-1B ("H-1B transfer")....

Try TD (Toronto Dominion) Bank. There may or may not be a branch in your city. The closest to my current location is Wilmington, NC. https://www.tdbank.com/tdhelps/default.aspx/depositing-a-canadian-check-into-a-u-s-td-bank-account/v/40257950/...
