Correct, and I'd say he's far from an also ran. I feel like he and Jimmie currently have the two most loyal sponsors in NASCAR.
I think it's kind of a "rising tide lifts all boats" mentality. It's what the owners and drivers have been pushing for for a while now. Started with the RTA, then the charter system. All to get a bigger slice of pie, which as a fan I'm OK with as long as it does get more dollars to the also-rans
