Can you honestly not fathom that someone can be proud to be from the south but not be a racist?

Its not our fault that you think southern=racism. What you libtards never understand is that everything isnt always about race. When Bubba and walmart and local governments and Nascar all pander to these idiots, it reinforces the belief that everything is always about race. And we get more and more of this stupidity.

Sorry, not sorry.

Isn't Bubba Watson an unpopular figure on the tour already? Isn't this just going to make him look even worse?

Bet you can't buy that picture on Amazon.

I also bet in 5 years, you won't see it (or anything like it) in a high school history textbook.

How does this make him look "worse?" Do you think he will pick up additional sponsors by taking a stand regarding the confederate flag?

I'm not a Bubba fan, but I'll give him credit for listening to his advisers and doing what he's going to do.

It's his freaking car and he can do what he wants with it. Now if some of you are so mad about him painting over the General Lee because it offends your sense of Southern pride you must be a real dope because the tv show play on negative stereotypes of Southerners.

What job did Bo and Luke have? It seems to me from watching the show that they were must have been on welfare. They didn't work. They never even worked on the farm Uncle Jesse owned. If you watched the show you clearly saw that they never worked hard enough to keep the farm running. All they did was run around in their stupid car and act like lazy, white Southerners who didn't value education and hard work and I don't think they ever went to church much.

If you get angry over the General Lee and see Bo and Luke as symbols of Southern pride you really make the argument that white Southerners who love that flag and are bunch of uneducated, close-minded, lazy fools.

You need to take about a half bottle of tranquilizers.

It's his car and I don't give a shite what he does to it. He can leave it like it is or paint it red, white, & blue. I'm not going to lose a moments sleep either way.

Give him credit for bowing down to a bunch of SJW's?

He is a coward. It's one thing for the flag to fly over capital buildings, but it's another thing altogether if it's your personal property and that car is iconic partially due to the confederate flag, not to mention the horn either. He better remove the horn too in this case.

If one owns property that has confederate symbols and is not motivated by racism or hate groups, then there is no reason not to own or display those symbols.

Bubba also needs to issue an apology for wearing just overalls in a music video as that comes off as a racist redneck. How dare he!

I dont care if he wants to paint over it either, but this is obviously only to avoid PC criticism. And thats what's so annoying. For 150 years it wasnt considered offensive but now suddenly in 2015 everyone is soooo offended by it. Must be all the former slaves running around out there. Brings up such terrible memories for them.

Do you live under a rock? (Black) People have always found the Confederate flag offensive. It's only just now blowing up because of current events obviously.

I'm not one to try to control what someone else can or can't wear/have on their own property but to act as if the flag isn't closely linked to racism/prejudice is disingenuous at best.

Sorry but I just have a hard time disassociating it with people who, just within the past 50-60 years, used it as a symbol while subjugating and deriding an entire group of people.

This is Bubba smartly listening to his professional advisors. His drunk meth head cousin is the one telling him, "frick them corporate suits Bubba. Stand yer ground!!"

If it's not about race....why did the Confederate flag make a big comeback during the civil rights era. People were waiving the flag while shouting hateful things. State's put the flag on their capitol. Why didn't they put the flag on their capitols in the 1930's, 40's 50's??? Why wait til the 60's??? Why weren't southerners waiving the flag and shouting hateful things back in the 30's-40's???

Come on, people aren't stupid. My family is from the south, and they'll tell you when the flag became popular.lol. Blacks have southern pride/heritage...don't need a flag to display that.lol.

They're not fricking stupid. They know what it symbolizes. Like I said there's other groups that have southern pride/heritage...they don't need a damn flag....There's a reason it became popular during the fight for Integration. Hmmmm.

So if somebody is born in DC and grew up a Redskins fan and has a Redskins logo on top of their car.... Are they racist? Do they hate Indians because some Indians and liberals find it offensive?

Confederate flag is no different. You can be a proud southerner without being a racist.
