Yep. It's not even as good as the current Georgia Dome. Much less the new one.

I haven't read the whole thread, but are the New Orleans people here being salty about this?

And in return, Atlanta people are resentful that most feel this was the wrong decision.

Everything I wanted this thread to be.

Nothing beats a good old fashioned Atlanta-New Orleans pissing match on TigerDroppings.

Leaving New Orleans heading east on Friday's was pretty bad when I was working there but I hate life trying to drive through Atlanta.

So I'm guessing 2019 is when it's played, not the 2019 season?

Absolutely. Why else would I be looking into moving back in the next couple of years? New Orleans may be your cup of tea, but it isn't for everyone.

Then how much must the owners hate Atlanta as a city? It took 4 ballots, which meant it only required a majority of the votes at the end instead of the usual 75%.

I don't really care where they have the Super Bowl. Don't know anything about their process.

NFL is in business to make money. Why wouldn't it leverage the superbowl to entice cities to subsidize stadiums that make money for owners?

Still, imo new stadiums are a bad deal for cities. Other investments have a far better roi. Nola is a great destination for large events and Nola will be a strong contender whenever there is not a new stadium up for it. If other cities want to continue to pay hundreds of millions of dollars that is there prerogative. It doesn't mean Nola should pursue a similar strategy.

Why does anybody care where the Super Bowl will be played? Unless you have a business in NOLA or plan on going, who cares? I will watch from my living room like I always do.

I had an awesome time at the Chick-Fil-A kickoff between Auburn and Louisville. Louisville fans, aside for one that left at halftime, were very pleasant. As for the Atlanta and Carolina game, eh, it was terrible. The Atlanta fans that lined the streets and the stadium were unbearable. Take what you want from this statement, but the personalities that surrounded the stadium following the NFL game were much different than the ones from the college game. "Ghetto" and "thug" can be used to describe the people: not just from appearance, but from demeanor.

Louisiana could use the revenue.
