I really think that's the key. I think as long as he doesn't over think the belmont, i think AP has about a 75% chance of winning the belmont.

I think if he comes out and just says look, I got hte best horse, beat me. I think he SHOULD win. I think that Empire maker in his blood will get him the distance.

As long as he doesn't pull a steward Elliot or start trying to be the smartest jockey in the room or anything

Anything for a Rockets fan.

I actually had the Wikipedia page open already though. Because I had just been looking at Baffert's history because it feels like he always has a horse competing.

I just don't understand why he named his kid after a douche.

Tale of Vicodan screwed me out of everything.

Pharoah has already won at damn near a mile and a half, given how wide he was in the Derby. This is it. It has to be.

Wife hit the big pick four at Pimlico.

All is good.

Well he also divorced his wife at like 50 to marry a 25 year old. He probably looks up to douchebags like Bode Miller.

Devil's Advocate here...

He just looks "different" from the other horses - in a good way. That was a beat-down today. That said, I think since Affirmed, the concentration of breeding power has been diluted by big money siphoning off pedigrees from the yearling sales, and just like the NFL, it suggests there is at least some level of parity in racing today. Not to mention there are well-rested "snipers" waiting in the wings for the Belmont. It will be tough for him to pull it off.

37 years since Affirmed... 3 in the 70's, 4 in the 40's, 3 in the 30's.

7 in a 19 year stretch....

1919 Sir Barton
1930 Gallant Fox
1935 Omaha
1937 War Admiral
1941 Whirlaway
1943 Count Fleet
1946 Assault
1948 Citation
1973 Secretariat
1977 Seattle Slew
1978 Affirmed

My only issue was Espinoza used the whip today when not needed. I think he's getting whip happy again.

My book has AP to Not win Belmont at +100.... Considering that the last 13 horses going for the triple crown here have failed, what do you guys think about this bet?

he's not whipping him to get him to go faster he's whipping him to get him to run straight. AP veers alot and shite let's not forget this was just his 7th race of his entire life. He probably needs blinkers.

I'll say this and I've said this before. A Keeneland / Fasig Tipson / Sales horse is never gonna win the tripe crown becuase they are bred to sale and not bred to run. AP is a homebred and is just a 5x5 cross to northern dancer, that's virtually unheard of these days. i.e they just didn't see how many times they could cross storm cat/ ap indy / unbridled in a pedigree

I mean for a horse to win a triple crown, if you have to ask yourself is this horse good enough than that's not the horse. aP is just better. on his game there is not a 3YO right now that can stay with him. He's freakish enough where I think a one time shot at 12F wont' be too big an issue plus he's got Big red and Empire maker in his pedigree both Belmont winners

It's alot like ghostzapper. If they make a 2 and a half mile race on turf and you put a 4YO ghostzapper in it, I'd wager on him and have full confidence he'd win, becuase HE'S JUST BETTER than other horses, i don't give a shite if he's never ran on turf or not lol.

AP has a lot of ghostzapper / Dr Fager in him in the sense that that they are just genetically freaky

and the time today it was fricking pouring down you can't count that
