That 777 guy asserted he could do it in 30 seconds.

I have no doubt (unless he was the greatest troll of all time) that Wiki is sitting pretty, though. God bless him.

say you would have bought $1000 worth back then, is it possible to even liquidate that into USD cash today (that much i mean)? Like are these theoretical riches or can they be legit converted.

Absolutely. You can buy and sell crypto just like you buy and sell stocks. Coinbase is good for noobs.

Yes. It's easy to trade. If people want to buy the security is easy to sell. Especially with modern trading.

I put $100 into btc every now and then. $100 = .00277 btc give or take.

Yep. today it’s super easy to buy and sell bitcoin. Just like trades of regular stock if you set up an account that covers crypto. Thing is, back then I don’t know if it was as easy to convert. I know there were guys who did it so maybe they’ll chime in. But today it’s super easy to buy fractions of bitcoin etc. it is still very volatile though lol. HUGE swings throughout the day (and night...it doesn’t close like regular market). It was at 40k a few days ago iirc, then 34, then 39... you get the picture.

I saw him post and freaked out a little, until I realized this was a bumped thread from 2015.

Ahhhh like getting it from your wallet to an exchange. In other words from your computer that you used to mine to a place that will pay you for it. Gonna have to defer to the experts on that one lol. Let me consult google for a quick answer tho

Depends on the liquidity of the exchange. You’d probably want to slowly sell so you don’t suddenly tank the price with a market sell of the whole stack.

Man, if only Bitcoin loons had a deeper understanding of econ, then they’d understand bitcorns will never make it to 5k.

Ahhh, this thread makes me happy. I’ve listened to this crap for the 5-6 years since this post. And they still dont get it.

I remember reading all of the back and forth between wiki v Russian and Broke. I always thought Russian and Broke were a little too harsh but ultimately would be on the right side of the debate. I tended to fall to their side. Wiki may end up being wrong about crypto replacing fiat currency, but he is probably going to be really wealthy while possibly being wrong.

Russian and Broke, and the rest of us that leaned their way, have to take the L on this one.

I think Wiki left after LSU Russian outed him using his IRL information.
Stop lying. That never happened. If it were true I would have been perma banned from the site.

Wiki's first screen name on TigerDroppings was his real first name plus his two initials. Every poster who has been on TigerDroppings during Wiki's first screen name timeframe knows his first name and intials. He changed his screen name to WikiTiger after he became active writing articles about LSU baseball on Wikipedia.

I referred to his first name's first letter once after he posted my first name and threatened to post my full name. (I have no idea how he got my name but Chicken assured me it didn't come from him or an admin.)

I don't know anything else about wiki, including his full name, other than what he posted about himself on this site.

So instead of allowing him to blackmail me, I replied to his post with my full name, my home address, my cell phone number and my email address and then asked him what other personal information of mine would he threaten me with.

GFY.

ETA: I just realized this is an old thread that got bumped. I've already replied to your lie earlier in this thread.
