1) The lack of depth at certain positions in the line or linebacking or

2) Coach KS game planning, in game adjustments and defensive calls?

For me I must admit, I'm a little on edge about Steel. Great recruiter as we are seeing and great organization guy for recruiting but not sure about the DC piece of it.

Depth, injuries.

No concern about the coordinator.

This is what I'm thinking too.

Meh. Honestly the talent is good enough of defense that you pretty much just stick in base defenses and you'll be okay in the long run. I've had that happen when I played. The talent was good enough to not have to do anything special. The depth is what scares me. You look at the best teams over the last decade in the SEC, it's not what the starters do, it's what the depth chart does.

For example: it's great when you have a monster like Nkemdiche at OM. But what do you replace him with when he comes out? You have talent on the base level on our team. But when the production leaves the field what do you replace it with? Rotation is key.

I'm worried about depth at the ends. Our interior got tore up to begin with, but it's solid now. They'll run the edges on us. Will we start getting gashed because there's not enough depth? Lot of teams will be running on us because the secondary is one of the best in the country.

I think our defense holds up. The biggest thing is week 3 at AU. Heavy run team really early. St. hurt us like that last year. Didn't give the young guys enough time to mature.

AU is lone loss.

Confident KS will do a good a job in game planning and coaching, but am nervous of an injury to a guy like Beckwith due to the lack of depth.

It's about the players at the end of the day. So for that reason, quality DE and LB depth are bigger concerns.

I'm concerned with depth in the front 7. Steele will be with us for a couple of years at least regardless. Injuries here could be a crippling unless some of these guys step up. How many have potential to do this, frankly I don't know.

Lack of depth in the front 7 is a bigger concern.

Being coached by a guy who has never failed to suck as a DC.

Depth is the scariest thing this year. Our offense will have to keep the defense off the field and limit the plays those guys endure. I'm not worried about Steele or any positions really. I think we're going to be in nickel 75% of the time this year so we won't have to worry about our LBs too much. We just need to rebuild depth with this recruiting class so that the drop off won't be huge next year.

Steele is definitely not a bad coach. He gets a bad rap for the WVU game, his last year at Clemson, and his time as a HC but those were a long time ago. He has the players, the schemes, and the ability to make adjustments. It'll be interesting to see how he coaches from the booth rather than from the field like he's used to.

Not worried about DE depth. We've got a lot of guys we can put out there. And I think Neal has a big year.

More worried about DT and MLB depth than DE depth.

Look. Up until Dabo and Art, Clemson and Baylor have always been dumpster fires. It's like going to coach at Miss St, Kentucky, Purdue, etc. what the hell are you going to do? Especially considering both of those leagues are pass happy little defense leagues.

I know this is a terrible point for arguing for him, but if Nick Saban liked him, I'll take it. Pretty much requires talent to do well.
