re: Delinquent account questions - JonTheTigerFan
Google "goodwill letter". Send letters to the creditor. Sometimes it works but that depends on the creditor. Some are more forgiving than others. The credit score hit you take from those payments will lessen over time and will drop from your report 7 years from when they occurred. ...

re: Selling a vehicle private party - JonTheTigerFan
Vehicle is registered and titled to my out of state business.
I went through this on the buyer side a few months ago. The seller lives in BR and the business he runs is in BR. The home office is in Alabama which is where the car was registered. We both signed the Bill of Sale, he ...
I have an out of state license's plate, so I'll be sure to remove it myself once the transaction has taken place.
Do you live in Louisiana but just never transferred the registration to Louisiana? If so, that's going to be a problem for you. If not, carry on and heed the solid adv...

re: Has anyone had success getting negative reporting off credit report? - JonTheTigerFan
I had some success with "Pay for Deletes" and a goodwill letter. Had some medical bills and an AT&T collection from when my wife and I merged accounts when we got married. I got a lot of good advice from the MyFico credit rebuilding forum. They have template letters and lots of solid advice. ...

re: EBR is taking a long time to collect storm debris - JonTheTigerFan
It's been a week and street after street still has tree branches at the curb. I don't think they have enough crews working on it.
They usually pick up curbside items too big for the garbage cans on Saturday where I live. I put some things out by the road last Friday night and they...

re: Extending WiFi range about 1000 feet? - JonTheTigerFan
They told her it would cost $5,000, basically trying to talk her out if it. This is in East Feliciana parish so it's pretty rural. I'm thinking they're just being lazy and don't want to mess with it. I ordered 2 Ubiquiti Nanostations. They get great reviews on Amazon. Thanks for the input guys. W...

Extending WiFi range about 1000 feet? - JonTheTigerFan
My mom just moved onto a piece of property given to her by her sister. Their houses are less than 1000 feet apart. The cable company in the area says they can't run cable that far (bull shite I know but they won't budge). What are her options (if any) for using her sister's wifi?...

re: Question about building credit with cards? - JonTheTigerFan
I'm aware of that. There is also a spot on the credit report that shows the highest balance the card or loan has had. If you are now at 0 balance but at some point in time you were maxed on a limit they can see that.
Oh yeah I see what you're saying. You're talking about the highes...

re: Question about building credit with cards? - JonTheTigerFan
If I'm correct the only historical point that is on the report is the high credit at some point in time on the account?
The statement balance is what is reported to the bureaus. Even if you max out your cards every month, if you paid them all off right now, the next time the statem...

re: Purchasing a car out of state: taxes/fees/registration - JonTheTigerFan
I recently bought a car from a private party from Alabama. The bill of sale will need to be signed by both parties and notarized. The title will need to be signed by both parties but we didn't get that notarized. I took the bill of sale, title and proof of insurance (they will likely do the initial ...

re: Best Credit Monitoring/protection services? - JonTheTigerFan
Credit Karma and Credit Sesame both have free services that will alert you when you have changes in your credit. Credit Karma offers TransUnion and Equifax. Credit Sesame pulls from Experian.
