The scoreboard is a scary, scary place

It's contaminated with Catastrophe Syndrome. It commonly infects grown arse men usually age 18-50 where they become placed on an emotional roller coaster ride similar to a hormonal teenage girl.

Common side effects, include the cursing out of Les Miles, other staff members, players & the refs, calling players out of their names, in house fighting amongst fellow posters, bitching, cries for players to be replaced immediately, menstrual discharge, immediate demands for answers for any aspect of the team deemed to be inferior, calling for Les Miles & other coaches to be fired, the occasional racial slur, paranoia, posters being accused of being posi or nega Tigers & mass bannings by the admins.

If you show signs of these symptoms, log out of TD & seek medical attention. Prolonged symptoms can lead to high blood pressure, heart attack, stroke & in very rare cases death.

Please consult your doctor before attempting to post on The Scoreboard to find out if The Scoreboard is right for you.

Just a reminder to some of the youth on the site...several of the most successful NFL QBs in history were somewhat slow in truly maturing as a QB...

Who's more miserable, the people waiting to tear Harris down or the ones tearing down our fanbase every season? I'll tell you which ones start more shitty threads about how "awful" LSU fans are.

if anything, many fans wanted to stick with him longer than it seems the coaches did

He had an ankle injury at Aub. which limited his playing time per Harris.

Really? Then why the continual crapping all a Tr. So. QB who started for LSU last season? Much like what went on with JL in 08 and JJ in 09 and even Mett in the 1st part of 2012.

BTW, I agree that QB development takes time in 95% of the cases.

this is really funny stuff. kudo's to you sir!

and the hell of it is, any one of us damn fans (ages 18-50 or older), given even a modicum of honesty will admit to some of these symptoms.

Yes, I mentioned that in my post.

For Mett, again, it was more of a vocal minority. For JJ, he was given more than a chance. The issue was more that many felt JL deserved another shot, especially in the NC. For AJ, once people saw that we were no longer in contention, they would have liked to see BH gain at least some more game time experience last year. Again, the high ankle sprain sheds new light on that though.

IF BH starts (and I still think its a big if), I promise you I won't be clamoring for AJ, no matter how badly Brandon performs. I saw all of that nightmare I needed last year

If you believe Les has any idea at all of what he's doing then you know Harris just flat out was not up to standards last year. He consistently rode pine while Jennings put up mind blowing shitty performances. I hope it really took him this long to learn the playbook to a manageable level (and this was the extent of his limitations), but I suspect the situation is not what we are making it out to be.

Wrong... We just won't blame miles as much if we have to run 68% of time and Cameron will catch hell like never seen. Lol. Cameron still filling qb depth and Harris still hasn't went live vs our ones this fall. He's got the plays down but still so much more.. Audibles, checkdowns, giving blocking assignments pre snap; read safety high/low, cover 1-2, blitzes, Long way to go. Only a sophomore. We need LF/DW/guice to take a lot of pressure off Harris. 2k yards between 3-4 backs would help a lot.

Granddad brings up a good point. Yes we mostly would like Harris to start. He showed flashes with State and NM St. Confusion with Wisky briefly and ineptness at Auburn. He clearly has a much stronger arm and his speed and quickness is better than AJs. We have a small sample size to observe with Brandon.

We saw AJ briefly in 13 until the final drive against Pigs as he hit three wide open receivers. This is still his shining moment. He looked like crap against Iowa, but we figured it was first time starting jitters like Brandon against Auburn and gave him a pass. Then we all watched AJ last year with a much bigger sample size of plays than Harris. Simply, he was far from impressive and I understand the WRs didn't always help him, but basically they were all first year players as well except for Dural with 7 career catches.

I think most of us agree with me, that if Harris is not the answer, LSU doesn't have one.

Anyway, August is always a time for optimism. Last year many had LSU blowing out Wisky and State.

Bottom line is I think most will give Harris the benefit of the doubt but not all because the next guy is someone we all know much better than the next guy generally.

Manziel and Winston were only RS Freshmen when they won the Heisman. Some "Get It" quick and some don't. Football isn't Rocket Science.

There's been no "Preponderace of Evidence" as of yet that Brandon Harris: Knows the Playbook, Can Audible, Can Check Down, Can give blocking assignments pre-snap, Can read the Safety high/low, Can recognize Cover 1-2, Can pick-Up blitzes or any of the other things necessary that really good QB's do.

No way to determine that in the "Low Pressure" atmosphere of practice either, so I don't care what he looks like there.

Don't care if he tears it up against McNeese State either. That's basically practicing against a High School team. (And Miles better let him throw it on every frickin down to get the "Game Atmosphere" timing down with his receivers) The RB's don't need that much work. We know they can run fast.

Give us a holler after the M.S.U. and Auburn games.................

Nothing new in college football. We signed #2 DT qb where can a ten year NFL veteran OC said first round arm sure we get excited. Blake sims was a nobody till his 5th year. Aj is rumored to be pouting and dejected. That dissapoints me the most. Thought he was a leader and team player. Hope he puts team before himself. Terrance Magee should call him. Many thought he would never be relevant. Harris is a tru soph that knows the playbook but so much more he's gotta prove he has learned. Expect ups n downs. Confidence is key. Knowing job is his is key. Aj wkin harder and quit pouting is key in case harris gets hurt. Example... Ohio St. Last year. He can be good enough with surrounding cast. Great ? No.. Game manager no mistskes get ball to playmakers with safe easy throws with few mistskes yes. I believe we can win west. But we need both qbs together and leaders of this team. Aj can be a leader as a backup. Stop pouting excel in some packages and maybe get some series here and there.

this is LSU. I have known our fans for many years and we don't change. the minute BH struggles or throws him some picks the Tiger faithful will start calling for the backup.

that's the funny thing about LSU fans. They prospect of dealing with 2011 again could be the end of Les Miles, right?

No! The drama created by fans is way more complicated than the QB decisions themselves. I assure you!!!

That was another reason for his limited playing time after Aub.

In his defense, there are not many tr. fr. QB's in the SEC who would not have been pretty lost.

No Grandad.

Harris is the best we have at the school. He will keep the job when Franks comes too.

He will likely have one of the greatest seasons in LSU history in the next three years. Bookmark this for future reference if you want.

The kid is the best talent we have had since Perrilloux and Jamarcus. If Cam stays for the rest of Harris's career we will be fine.

**barring injury of course
