We are in the midst of a Brandon Harris lovefest

have your fun fellas.
when the season starts, I predict the magic will wear off of the romance.
this is LSU. I have known our fans for many years and we don't change. the minute BH struggles or throws him some picks the Tiger faithful will start calling for the backup.
ps: I hope it doesn't happen.

I hope it doesn't happen either but you know it will. We have a pretty miserable fan base.

Quit talking about romancing College players GrandDad.

It wouldn't shock me if next year Brandon has a bad game and people are clamoring for Franks.

Not the usual. We know the backup is very poor. We don't know Harris is good of bad, cause we had far too little data on him. Your comparison to the usual does not hold water. Sure, we expect him to have some issues, but we know that even with the issues, he will give us a better chance to get further to the 10-plus win level than would Jennings. So, we'll accept some lumps and watch him grow, because the Jennings is certifiably inadequate.

if you say so.
honestly, I think most will but the very vocal, mostly very young group will calling for his head.

I don't think anyone is expecting perfection. We all just want something better than last year. We want our stud receivers to have a chance to be utilized. Passing for 225 to 250 a game with a TD is not asking a lot by today's major college football standards. No one is predicting an undefeated season I think, and Harris will make some ints and mistakes, but we will be better as an offense now that he has matured mentally and physically some, and knows the offense and what's expected. The low ceiling for his career is solid above average QB play which is fine. The high ceiling for his career is all American QB play. Either would give us a huge lift.

O/U on threads calling for Miles to put in Kragthorpe?

But it's not like its blind love like we might of had for Jennings at the beggining of last year. We know for a fact Harris has one of the most talented arms in college football and we got to see him air it out vs New Mexico and Miss State.

Well yeah. The best player on LSU is always the backup qb. I hear AJ is looking great now that Harris is assumed the starter.

I don't see the need for this thread.

Do you think it will take that long?

I'm not even on your lawn.

No one was calling for Mettenbergers backup when he was here.
Posted on 8/12/15 at 3:16 pm to LSU GrandDad
Wont be that bad. We have endured some rough qb play over the years, so most folks don't have expectations that are too high. I, for one, don't expect greatness, but I do expect to see the potential to develop greatness. That sir, Anthony Jennings, does not possess.

If he struggles people who understands football will understand that this is the road to greatness for a young qb. Yes I know Jennings struggled, however there was never any signs of improvement during his phase of struggling last year. BH has the intangibles to at least make the transition to an average qb.

There were multiple threads calling for Rivers to get a shot after the UF loss in 12' (Mett put up 44% comp and overthrew several deep balls that may have won the game). Even Jamarcus had detractors calling for Flynn. Flynn may have been the only LSU QB in my time who the rant universally agreed should start.
