LSU people everywhere in DFW

FYI there is a SEC kickoff mixer two weeks from tonight at community brewery in the design district of Dallas.

Starts at 6pm. I go every year and it's a blast. They have about 800-1000 people that show up

Corn hole, jenga, food trucks, craft beer and music. Good times!

Really? Post a reminder when it's closer. Community makes some tasty beer. I tend not to watch games in public because I'm too much of a nervous wreck during games to socialize... but that sounds like fun.

Sherlocks off 75 and Walnut hill if you're looking to watch in an atmosphere that's more serious and into the game.
Dodies if you want to party

I moved to Dallas from Louisiana in early 2012 and have now experienced 3 football seasons here.

As far as watch parties go, prepare to be dissapointed with the watch centers around DFW. The crowd and atmosphere here doesn't hold a candle to say Woodrow's in Houston.

Sherlock's attendance dropped off considerably last year. Addison Point on Belt Line was okay for some games.

For as many alumni that are here, I still am dissapointed in our chapter. The Spring Crawfish boil is about all it has going for it.

That said, I hope we can come to a consensus on a fun, well-attended watch center sometime soon.

FYI- do go to the SEC Alumni kickoff party at Community on the 26th!!!

What part of Allen? We are building in Star Creek now.

OH, and sherlock's/dodie's is the answer.

Our church has a ton of LA folks, so we usually have a legit watch party at someones house in or around Allen.

I've been to Sherlocks for a game and it was alright. I honestly prefer watching games at home with a few friends than at a bar.

I am with you there, my emotions get the best of me when watching LSU quite frequently. It is getting better with age but I still embarrass myself occasionally.

I would be fine at a bar if I sat next to someone who actually knows a thing or two about football but oftentimes the lack of knowledge about the game ruins it for me. I do get a bit too intense when watching though

Which Dodie's? The one further up Greenville or the one on lower Greenville?

Yea, I think the problem is that there are too many watch parties spread around DFW.
Honestly, if everyone would just agree to go to Dodies that would be best case. It's big enough, great atmosphere, and it's in a good part of town with a lot going on (lower Greenville).
They could even just give us the upstairs and top patio if they still wanted to cater to multiple fan bases at once like they do now.

Fox and Hound on Midway near the GBT is a good one - been going there for years.

Ben's Half Yard house was the best when it was open.

Fox & Hound is KSU's patch now though we did share the site with them for several seasons.

I don't think Fox & Hound Plano was a 2014 season watch center and as of now its not on next year's slate.

When I first moved here 14 years ago the only place to watch was the Halfyard House (which is now gone) and it was pretty rocking. Saw the Bluegrass Miracle there and the place erupted. Was almost like being at Tiger Stadium....not quite but great anyways.

my parents live in Star Creek and im about 3 miles away. we love Allen. its close to everything, has terrific schools, and its already built out.

i will remind everyone of the Mixer as it gets closer. its alot of fun. every school has a booth with alumni info and people all wear their team colors. they have ESPN on all the tvs showing last years games and everyone is just in a good mood knowing football season is a week away.

LINK

Also on a side note, if you want to eat beforehand, i highly recommend Middlesome Moth. its about a mile away and is a nice craft beer tapas restaurant with a cool atmosphere. thats where ill be beforehand. That night is always an Uber night.

Community Beer Company

1530 Inspiration Dr, Dallas, Texas 75207

Come join the SEC Fans club of Dallas/Ft Worth for the annual football season kick off party. All SEC alumni and friends are welcome!

We will be meeting up at Community Beer Company just outside of downtown Dallas for a few drinks. Catch up with alumni you haven't seen in eight months, meet some new people and most importantly talk some smack!!!

Purchase the new SEC fans club T-Shirt at the front door, so remember your $20.

Food trucks will be on site for grub and each school will have an area inside set up where you can find out information about your school's individual annual events, weekly watch parties and other great info.

This is our biggest event of the year--see you there!
