I'm sure this list will be great.

Shep threw for over 1800 yds and 20 TDs his senior year of high school. I don't know where this he couldn't throw it myth comes from. All I wanted was 1 trick play where he could throw it downfield but that play isn't in CLMs 1950 play book.

I don't remember anyone being upset that Shepard wasn't playing QB, since everyone was pretty convinced that he was no quarterback.

Really?

I remember watching him in the All-star game with Debose. Throws ducks.

Why do you pumpers continually refer to pointing out reality as bashing?

It's equally as productive as spinning every single thing into a positive, which makes them both completely and equally meaningless since this is a message board.

At the time I didn't understand the move but in retrospect it was brilliant!

Drastically underutilized by CLM. Glad he salvaged his career.

Although I agree with the Ops view that RS owes his NFL career to his LSU coaches, I also agree that an athlete with his speed should have been targeted to touch the ball at least 6 - 8 times per game with jet sweeps, wildcats, screens, etc. He may draw an NFL paycheck for a decade with his athleticism and willingness to give up his body. Happy for the guy.

Looking at how Shepard is doing with Tampa Bay as a receiver and on special teams, its obvious that Miles and staff made the right call, made the best use of his abilities, and put him in the best position to land on an NFL roster. Something he probably would not have done had he continued as a dual threat quarterback

So, in hindsight, can folks admit that CLM made the right call with Shepard? There were probably times when Russell himself was disappointed that it didn't work out for him as a QB at LSU. However, looking back on it, it seems to have been the best thing that could've happened for him.

The position switch was Shepard's idea. RS asked to be moved to receiver.

Yeah, I don't exactly live on the Rant, so I could conceivably miss out on lots of threads. I watched his videos when he signed with LSU, and I was never under the impression he would play QB.

If you are a receiver who wants big time stats and only worries about stats in college, go to a team that uses WR's exclusively. However, if you want to learn great fundamentals, including good route running, how to run routes to get teammates open, how to block on runs, block on quick passes/screens/down field for other receivers, learn special teams play, and of course get your share of catches; well come to LSU. We have produced some of the absolutely best WR's in the NFL.

The receivers from LSU have so many tools in their bag that when they get their chance in the NFL, teams want them for their well rounded abilities.

Not to mention this program has been in the NC hunt almost every single year.

Is CLM ruining Jennings chances at an NFL career by using him at QB?

Miles practiclaly ruined RS future career as an NFL player. If it weren't for sheer force of will and natural talent, RS wouldn't have had a chance.

Those aren't exactly GOAT numbers for a D-1 prospect. Not terrible but in no way does that show he would be a successful passer in college.

So he completes a pass for 30 yards. Then what? Does that legitimize the playbook in your mind if that happens?

Honest question, you think that if the coaches don't switch him to receiver, he would be in the nfl today? I think that would be a very very slim chance.

Lsu did him a favor.

Randle El made it in the NFL. Shepard could have been a similar college QB in the right system that actually develops QBs.

no, it's a proven fact that ranturds know more than any coach!

ranturds just use lsu coaches to sharpen their wit.
ranturds have experience playing nfl video games.
ranturds don't have to be at any practice.
ranturds are smarter than any body else.

ranturds are mostly nicksuckers.
