Missed that.

A real positive role model for all LSU fans and football players past, present and future. We can celebrate his life and accomplishments; his legend will live on.

Another great story about Y.A. Tittle is how he lost his pants while he was tackled in one game. In my view, that is one of the most humorous plays in LSU history.

If anyone can find a link or provide more details to either that play or the story about his recruiting, many of us would enjoy reading that.

My daddy loved to tell that story, but he was likely embellishing as he didn't go to LSU, and was too young to have traveled up for the game, then.

May God welcome you, Y.A. to His Kingdom.
Great Tiger.

He sat behind me at the Tennessee game in 2000. There was a half-time presentation of the three LSU players in the NFL hall of fame. Sadly, now only one of them is still alive.

I learned to love LSU football from my dad. My dad loved LSU football because of Y A Tittle.
He will live on through the acts of goodness he performed and in the hearts of those who cherish his memory.

It was the NFL championship game v the Bears in 63. His knee was wrapped so tight he could barely move. Lost 14-10.

LSU’s first great QB and arguably submitted the greatest NFL passing season ever in 1963 with the Giants: 60% passing, 105 passer rating, 36-14 TD/INT ratio. RIP

Talked with him about 10 years ago. He was 80+ at the time and he talked about how much he still missed football. That always gives me goosebumps. No matter how old guys like him become, the game truly never leaves them.

Class act. Great Tiger.
