A) National Championship or bust
B) CWS Finals
C) CWS with at least a win or two
D) Super Regional appearance
E) SEC Champions

Usually I'd go with E here; I mean, what a great accomplishment any year. But I've got to go with C.

EDITED -- C) -- to include at least a win or two. 0-2 and done, we've all seen that before and it leaves a bad taste. This particular team is too good to go 0-2; no excuses!

What say you?

Then...

That happened...

UPDATED for first game jitters, cold bats, and serial post-game CPM-bashing (not wholly unwarranted imho btw) in the cursed vomitorium known as TD Ameritrade...

Couple of questions: C is still possible, but could we call this season a "success" after posting the best record in baseball and an SEC Championship? 0-2 in another CWS would be apocalyptic, especially on the Rant, but maybe by football season we'd all appreciate, if nothing else, what a fun season it (mostly) was?

Not going 0-2 in Omaha. It's been too damn long since we have won a game in Omaha.

C). And a win, can't go 0-2.

this has been a successful season I'll be disappointed if we don't win it all but I don't judge a season only on the post season.

Now if we do well in the regular season but can't get it working past than ok that sucks and if it begins to happen year after year I will be concerned, but some people on this board will call for coaches head because they don't win it all.

National championship or nothing!! LSU baseball is the Kentucky, and Bama of bball, and football. I realize about 5 of Bama's NC's are from crappy polls but they still have about 9 legit NC's

Can't be very serious, since A, we have already won the SEC Championship and B, if you are an LSU baseball fan, winning the CWS every year is your ultimate goal...Sorry, Skip spoiled me...

A success in LSU baseball terms should be a natty as the goal every year. If that is not achieved then it is a failure of a season.

You set the bar way to low man. No wonder you are such a loser in life.
Not only must LSU win the NC every year but if they lose any games at all the season is a failure. Even if they win them all any time a team scores against LSU the season is a failure.

I want to say A, but rationality says B.

Not getting to Omaha would be a massive failure. As others have said, getting to Omaha and going 0-2 would be almost as bad and Mainieri would (deservedly) get some major heat.
