cant complain if you get to any of those 3 spots in baseball, basketball, and football.

in this thread, i was scolded intensely by a couple of people who were incredulous when i suggested that winning in omaha is basically the only measure of success for the tigers. it seems that pretty much everyone in this thread agrees with me. omaha is the gold standard for the most elite programs and in comparison with the investment other programs make in baseball, lsu should be elite in the postseason more often than not. saying that an sec championship equals a successful season is loser ole miss talk.

mainieri's postseason record over the last 5 seasons has been disappointing. there are 10 other programs who have made omaha at least twice in that time and 3 programs have been 3 times. so, lsu is essentially not even in the top 10 over the last 5 seasons. that should not be acceptable. now if he makes it this season, that would be 2 out of the last 3 which is excellent of course.

I have a want for all the marbles. It all comes down to how bad the team wants it.

A) National Championship or bust

Win at least 1 game in Omaha. They haven't won a game there since the 2009 title.
