This is LSU's best chance to win the national title. They have an experienced lineup and good pitching at times. I will be disappointed if they don't take home the title.

However, realistically I just want to see them be competitive in Omaha. Don't want to see a 2 and Q.

Where have you been since 2009? We haven't been to Omaha but once and haven't won a game there since 2009. Counting this year, we have been a top 8 seed 3 of those years. It's time to produce in the postseason, and I ain't talkin bout Hoover.

2013 was the "best chance". We were the best team in the country that year.

The goal is to win the national championship, of course.

But that doesn't happen every year for anyone in any sport, and it is absurd to think of anything less as a failure. This year in basketball, for example, Kentucky did not have a failure of a season, even if they didn't win the chamchampionship. They had a very good season, even if they didn't achieve all of their goals.

Likewise, LSU already has had a very good season. Of course I want them to win the national championship, but if that doesn't happen, it will not mean this season will have been a failure. It already is a successful season.

An LSU team that's good enough to win it should always win it. 2013 was not a success. 2012 was. 2014 was not because we had a coach make 2 bad decisions back to back and a freshman making guarantees.

If LSU doesn't make any noise in Omaha this year, that would be 6 straight years without a win in Omaha. In no way could those 6 years be considered a "success" for LSU's baseball program. Especially when you consider that the road to Omaha went through Baton Rouge most of those years.

A or C.

Losing in the championship has to hurt way more than not making it.

Considering the talent we had and to only make it to Omaha once since 09 and then go 2 and q anything less than b would be a disappointment. If asked before the season I would say between c and b. I think pm should be on hot seat for anything less than b if we go two and q.

Not going 0-2 in Omaha. It's been too damn long since we have won a game in Omaha.

agreed. An option should have been reaching the semi's there. Certainly not making it there would be considered very poor. I also believe 2 and bbq would be very poor. Some school's are just happy to make it. Given LSU's history, talent, and fanbase, I think it would be an extremely disappointing season if they went 2 and done there.....PM can't continue to rest on 2009...that's for sure...

he should most definitely be if we go 2 and done, I agree....obviously assuming they get there. You will have many in here though that will say we are crazy...just look at his record...etc. I say, look at the facilities, fanbase, history, talent.....for the most part, LSU has underachieved under PM, imo.

Disagree.

So you are saying if LSU were not to make it to Omaha this year, it would still be successful.

Yes KY had a great season...but they at least made a final four.

It's retards of your strips that make the LSU fan base look like entitled buffoons.

Two SEC titles, 3 west titles, five tournament titles, an average of 49 wins in the last four years, won the west three times in the last four years, two super regional appearances in the last three years, and a CWS appearance can be in no way considered success? Are you a fricking idiot? You don't have to answer. I know the answer is yes.

It's sad that players who do so much for the LSU fan have fruit cakes such as you crapping on them with nonsense such they haven't had success.

From the fans perspective I'd say somewhere between B and C. Need to make a little noise in Omaha....cant just get there this time

B) you can't possibly say this season has been unsuccessful if we make the final series and lose.

C) 0-2 again would leave a very bitter taste in our mouth's. That would be twice in three years that we feel like we had the best team and couldn't get it done in Omaha.

I don't think there will ever be a program as dominant as lsu was in the 90's.

Too many programs invested a lot of money to become competitive now. Some of the assistant coaches/ga's/former players in that era are now coaches.

It's just college baseball evolving.
