But the O has shifted over the years, and do we really know if Les is really taking control of the offense?
Any OC that wanted to feature more of the passing game I've witnessed the past 2 years would be nuts.
One drive where Arky, up 21 practically ignored the flat and LSU went all West Coast with like 8 successive completes has been the only highlight this year. Once they adjusted, it was back to same old.
Besides some obvious misses on open WRs, I wonder if the coverage is too soft in practices and routes can't be replicated vs good DBs.

The more things change, the more they remain the same. Expect more of the same for 2016. Damn you, Joe Alleva.

2013 was an anomaly you have to see that

No, it really wasn't. Sure that was the peak since 2007, but we have have plenty of good offense and QB play.

All anyone ever wants to talk about from 2011 is 1/9 but we had very very good offensive numbers and QB play in 2011 outside of those games against perhaps one of the best defenses of all time.

Even in 2012, our offense overcame some early season struggles with OL and WR play to have great passing numbers and high scoring wins down the stretch. Even against Bama our offense and specifically the passing game was extremely effective.

2008 is known for the pick sixes by a QB that was clearly thrown in over his head, but our offense still moved the ball well through the air and put up over 30 points a game. It certainly wasn't an offense that fits the "Miles will never change" narrative.

The offense has changed plenty over the years, and the stupid catchphrase about Miles being stubborn and unwilling to change just shows how uninformed the people are that constantly make it.

There are plenty of legitimate concerns about our offense but Miles being some power hungry maniac that only allows a team to run run pass every single drive isn't one of them.

If everyone says that Les Miles controls the office, how is it that Cam Cameron is getting blamed? Don't care who you hire the plays will be the same. As for as developing the qbs, you are recruiting the wrong type of qb to run the office. Les wants a duel threat qb, but run a pro style offense. Its not Cams fault.

Believe it or not, recruiting is not an exact science, and even Cam Cameron can't see the future.

...and this board went apeshite when we landed Clifton Garrett - he was the solution to all our defensive woes. But look jow that turned out. Sometimes you hit, sometimes you miss. Harris will likely be good next year, but like most, he has taken time to develop. Look at the difference in Mett in his years here. We've been screwed with bad luck by guys like Perriloux and Zach Lee, and that is what put us in that position. And Franks' situation may keep us in it a while longer.

It's not going to happen. It's the system guys. Branden Harris was the most Hightly recruited since Ryan P. The guy coached in the pros. The problem is not him.

Harris was supposed to be pretty good by now too.

The kid and his family must have some screws loose if he only wants to come to LSU if Miles and Cameron will be here for the next four years. I like Les, and I think that's pretty goofy.

He coached quarterbacks who were already pretty good in the pros. He didn't have 18-year-olds and make them into good QBs in a year or two.

Carl smith coached in the nfl, do you want him as well?

His Baltimore offense was boring and inefficient as well.

That may be true. I've questioned our secondary since the spring game. They were supposed to be the ones supporting the line this year, but it has often looked like the opposite. Maybe Coach O makes sure his players have the necessary intensity in practice and the other defensive coaches don't.

IMO that's the offense that CAUSED the "Miles will never change" narrative.

Nailed it.

2008 looks bad because of the pick 6s but the concepts were pretty solid. We moved the ball well when Lee didn't throw it to the other team.

2011 was solid.

2012 took a bit to get in the groove but CLEARLY improved over the season.

2013 was good.

2014 was pretty bad.

2015 had some flashes. We ran the ball well at times and the passes were there but Harris just couldn't make the throws all the time. He was erratic. Honestly, I don't think it was necessarily scheme. Harris just shite the bed 2nd half of the season.

Maybe it takes someone like Mett to run the offense, IDK. Regardless, the throws have been there for Harris. shite, look at the Moo State, Auburn, SCAR, and Florida games. Harris didn't light the world on fire but he had 64%+ completions and didn't turn it over. He ran the ball well when needed in those games too. Even factoring in the games sense then, I don't think he's necessarily a bad QB. He's got the talent he just hasn't harnessed it.

Ultimately, QB development is part of Cam's job. In terms of scheme I don't think he has been terrible...he just hasn't developed Harris into what we need.
