No question. A healthy JD Moore and Dillon Gordon make a difference. BH6 will improve enough to where we hit a few more passes, but still pound the rock. Bama at home, the most experience and talent returning in college football = SEC and National champions!

Does anyone think if we stay completely healthy on offense and hit a few more passes a game that we still pose a threat to win the SEC and maybe it all with the same scheme?

We got blow out in three losses and lost the battle of LOS badly. I don't feel marginal improvement would change the outcomes of those games. It will boil down to whether our OL can impose their will or be pushed away a few yards once the ball snaps.

I agree somewhat, but experience gives coaches more confidence to switch gameplans on a dime.

They might not have trusted the offense to pivot to a new gameplan mid-game.

He's used the same game plan every year since he took the job. Sure, there were some wrinkles here and there with Crowton (Pistol formation) as OC... but ultimately it ended being that same predictable offense. He has a bye week before the Bama game ever year... yet he has shown nothing new against a team that just as talented and bigger. The last creative thing I've seen was that toss dive reverse to the tightend. Should I even bring up how undisciplined this team is? Flags galore. He babies this team. 1st and 25, and he runs out of the I. 2nd and 20, he runs out of the spread. 3rd and long he finally decides to pass. Down by 21 points? lets scrap the I and finally go shotgun.
It's more than just "oh because our fullback, J.D. Moore was injured."

Cam's offense has scored 17, 17, 13, and 16 against them with this offense. I just don't see the same system getting us over that hump, regardless of the number of injuries and level of experience.

2012. Not Cam. And it's not his system.

17, 13, and 16

We also had a fumble on the inch line against Bama on the 13 year, and missed 2 field goals on the 17 year.

We moved the ball with relative ease against that secondary in 2013.

I wouldn't say our offense cost us the 2013 or 2014 game. We had the lead with less than a minute to go in each of those and blew it

Bama has had a bye week too, just sayin'.

The rest of your post just isn't true and so off base from reality that I don't feel like arguing it.

exactly. We are going to do what we do like Alabama and Clemson and not one of those crazy air raid HUNH offenses. Anyone who was expecting LSU to go crazy HUNH air raid just isn't going to happen under Miles.

exactly. we might some times go no huddle or air it out or use 4 wr's without changing our identity.

If it was the same game plan there would not have been ANY "wrinkles". That statement alone identifies you as a person who either:
1. doesn't watch much football, or
2. doesn't understand what he is watching, or
3. both of the above.

As far as the game plan is concerned, have you ever actually seen a college game plan? Would you understand it if you did?You don't have to answer. We know the answer.

He babies this team.

I have to agree with you on this. Yelling, screaming and cursing at the players is the best way to get them to respond. If that doesn't work, run their happy asses till they drop. That will damn sure get their attention.

So in your world 1st and 25 isn't long? OK Knute. Tell us more.

Thanks for your post. The insight into your mentality and football knowledge is worth a good mid-morning chuckle.

Even the blandest NFL offenses implement some measure of misdirection. LSU, prior to the last few games of the year, did not. No screens, counters, toss-sweeps, reverses, gadget plays... just straight ahead, run-run-throw it deep.

not exactly true but to some extent. But that was because they didn't have complete confidence in Harris. At the end of the season the coaches made more effort on offense.

Pose a threat? Like be ranked number 2 and undefeated heading into BAMA, Down by a score to start second half?

Yeah.

I think we will see more than just "marginal improvement" on offense this season both from Harris and in our play calling and scheme.

our offense is like these spread teams offense; shut down one facet of it and they lose. so these high powered air raid guys never go undefeated as somebody on their schedule shuts them down and they CAN'T adjust.

only a balanced offense CAN adjust. there most certainly will be games that we have to pass successfully to win.

but we should all remember, we didn't shut down bama, arky or ole miss' offense down either. oour problems ain't just our O.

we aren't going to one of those crazy HUNH air raid offenses no matter how many "fans" call for it. I don't get our fans infatuation with the crazy HUNH air raid spread offense. LSU is not trying to become another TExas Tech or TCU. It is not our "identity"

Win some games, yes. Win the SEC, no. Once Saban gives the rest of our schedule the blueprint, Miles will need to be more creative.

so you think MIles and Cam need to invent new plays or new offenses or run triple reverse bootlegs or 'statue of Liberty' plays every down for LSU to be more succesfull on offense?

We will win the SEC and NC just like the Broncos just won the Superbowl........GREAT defense, a Heisman RB leading a strong running game, and enough passing to move the chains.

Then we will have the same results. Beat up on lesser talented teams, lose to equally or more talented teams. This year that would be 2-3 losses. Yay middle of the SEC west.
