And it has taken Saban 9 years to do that. Miles has only had 5.

Changes nothing...by this logic Saban can never 'catch up' with miles (in terms of years). Silly.

To make this argument is short-sighted, look at the trend, what has Alabama football done since Saban arrived and where is it now? what has the LSU program done since Les Miles took over and where is it now?

1.It's 1-0 after the first game- just like Alabama.

2. We will all have our answer to most of these questions 8 weeks from this Saturday (unless of course head-to-head competition doesn't count this year).

Probably one of the most outlandish things I've read on the rant so far. Well done, sir.

Saban has a 4 year head start on Miles. In 4 years, we'll know how he stacks up against Saban.

Saban will always have a 4 year head start on Miles. In 4 years, you will continue to make the same argument.

Fixed it. We already know...Saban championships more than double those of Miles'. We can do a weighted calculation per year, but why bring math into the equation.

The last 2 years plus the start of this year has been the down low ( the team has not looked good ). This is due to no first string QB recruited

Rather go to a BCS bowl, but no regular season that ends with an invite to the 2nd best bowl available to an SEC team out of 9 possible bowl offers equates to a "down low" season. imo

It's fine to seek/want greatness, but there is no need to belittle players/team/coaches that improved from a 7th place SEC finish to a 3rd place SEC finish or went on the road, played a short handed, ranked ACC team, and over came 5 T/Os and questionable calls to win.

I would suggest we hold our water a tad before we wet ourselves and this team with our pissing and moaning, but each to our own.

I heard Mike Detillier say it himself. LSU has had poorly coached players the last two years.

Didn't he also say Glenn Dorsey was the top player in the 08 draft?

Mama says that stupid is as stupid does.

What more does Miles have to prove to you that he is an elite coach? He is one of only about 10 active coaches with a National Championship under his hat. I realized he was an elite coach when he led our team to the National Championship in 2007.

Under your logic, you would probably would have fired Urban Meyers after the 2007 season because he lost 4 games in the 20007 season after he won the National Championship in 2006 and you would have missed out on the 2008 championship.

Miles before the nc game " i think this is a big game and the players are excited about playing in it " wow that will fire a team up. Would love to hear the pep talk he gives his players before the game. vanilla

And you think Saban said more to the media? Saban's talk to the media was, "..."

What the heck does that prove?

Under your logic Larry Cooker is / was an elite coach.

Would have absolutely no problem with Les after winning the 2009 national championship. We would have won the West (without mentioning names), and likely be ranked in the top 10 this year (per your analogy to Florida).

When does this shite spewing end? Personally, I'm not a high school recruit or parent. I don't give a damn if Miles develops talent or not. I just care if he wins with it. You want to point out Jamarcus Russell, Buster Davis, Charles Scott, or anyone else that didn't make an impact in the NFL, whatever.

At the end of the day, it's not Miles' job to get his players ready for the NFL just as it's not any head coaches' job to get his players to the NFL. You want proof of this? Tim effing Tebow. Meyer never taught this kid a fundamental throwing motion or how to stand in the pocket? Why? Because he won games with sidearm throws, jump passes, and barrelling through defenders. Urban Meyer did what was best for Urban Meyer and for the Florida Gators. And all anyone should expect of Les MIles is to do what's best for Les Miles and the LSU Tigers.

What else does an elite coach have to prove once he is one of a chosen few to have won a national championship?

I HOPE this is NOT the way Les thinks...am pretty sure Saban doesn't think as such.
