Pelini nearly gave away several games that year and our OFFENSE bailed him out.

What MIles problem is ... hes to nice a guy to do what it takes to get where this program where it should be. He sees what we see and wont do anything about it. We have a offencive coach that cant get the job done, we have a deffencive coach that doesnt make ajustments to stop what the other team is doing... we can lose all the games... just show us we can play the game with the best and MAKE it exciting

A coach or a player have to prove themself week after week and year after year. That's just the way it is in sports and life.

Miles separated himself from 99% of his coaching peers with the 07 NC, but he also made himself a marked man. Once you prove you can do it, a good part of your world expects you to do it again or at least get close. Not saying it's fair or right, just the way it is.

We have an offensive coach that put together a solid first game that was derailed by fumbling and a defensive coach that was playing backups and freshmen for much of the second half of the game.

Care to take a look at the first 30 minutes again? I really hate sweeping generalizations, particularly in Chavis's case as he's been DC for a mere 14 games.

unfortunately, a good part of our world expects he'll never do it again or at least get close... without giving him the benefit of actually coaching the games.

I disagree. Once you attain the elite coach status, it doesn't go away in 2, 3 or even 4 years. Miles won it once and he will win it again. The odds of winning it back to back or every other year are outrageous and I don't expect that. Of course, I hope they win it every year and I always expect that we will, but if we don't, my disappointment is not with Miles, the players or LSU. It takes a lot of luck to play for the national championship and you must get the right bounces and calls. It takes a perfect storm for all schools that just get to play for it. Just ask Alabama last year. They were inches and even seconds away of not playing in the title game, but they got the breaks (some may say they earned the breaks, but they still got the breaks). Miles has done more than any coach at LSU, except possibly Saban, and he deserves our respect, support and admiration. He has mine.

LSU and the state of Louisiana have and always will be a pipeline to the NFL.
