La Tech has always been like this as long as I can remember going back to the 80s.

Not that it really matters, but the posted thread began in July.

I think I just read that they think that Tech running back is better than Fournette and that their Defensive Backs are held in higher regard than the ones at "DBU"...are all fan bases this fricking delusional, that they honestly think they have better players than LSU...wow didn't expect this out of Tech

Tech had two DB's on the preseason Thorpe award watch list FWIW.

ETA: Not that I agree with them, but I understand that Tech posters comment about there DB's though.

Tech Grad here and these reports are just silly. Tech people know their place and understand LSU rules all within the state as far as sports these days. Most are big time LSU fans. That being said, you should still have school spirit from within your own and that is a good thing. It's hard not to bandwagon LSU honestly. Keep in mind most La kids grow up Tiger fans, but end up at different schools for any number of reasons. Most of the hard core Tech fans are Rustonites......they just don't know anything aside from Tech.

Do they have an open week anytime this season the same as LSU? Because they could fill the McNeese void and we can find out how good their RB & DBs are.

They should be proud of their USAF pipeline bc the USAF will not accept just anybody.

Now I do like Kenneth Dixon. Have been following him since his freshman year and it would be a shame if he wasn't drafted in the top 4 rounds. Only thing he lacks is top end speed.

With that said, he doesn't compare to Fournette.

Living in Ruston I have to deal with these idiots every day. I have always said Tech has the most delusional fans in the country and this proves it

Guys, lay off. I went to Tech but have season tickets to LSU. Dixon is very good...but he is no Fournette. The talent difference is significant across the board. Just enjoy the moment. We may never see a better back.

If you don't know LF, then your school wasn't out recruiting the top player in the country. Means your team sucks.

Tech is a very isolated school many miles from anything. This mix of ignorance and myopic thought does not surprise me.

NLU grad. Never in my 4 years of under grad nor during my graduate school days there did I ever hear of anti-LSU sentiments. Football was so bad there in my day, everyone was an LSU fan indeed. Even during the glory years of NLU football, folks were still LSU fans. Now that we are ULM and football normally sucks, I think most are still LSU fans indeed. I know I am, even though I would like to see ULM do great. I don't get sick when they lose. I enter a state of depression when LSU loses.

It's only a handful of idiots up there but they are very vocal. Some of them make it hard for me to pull for tech which is a shame because they do very well with what they have academically and athletically. There admin often tries to make digs at LSU and it just makes me smh. It was hilarious when their dipshit AD passed up a bowl bid in 2012 and the team didn't get another one.

Work with a Tech guy. Hates LSU with all his heart. Makes a point to always root against them...so there's the other side.

La Tech (or LaVoTech as I like to call them) has a HUGE superiority complex for some unknown reason. There has never been a RB there that was half as good as Fournette. That may be the most ridiculous statement I've heard. Dixon was so good last year they lost to FCS Northwestern State (Natchitoches).
They also lost to Old Dominion who is best know for women's basketball.
