This is such an ignorant comment. LSU went 4-7 in 1998 and 3-8 in 1999. Tech was ranked in top 25 going into final game at usc of regular season in 1999. Tech won at Alabama in 1999, and 3 losses were national champion Florida St., Texas A&M and USC.

I'm not one of those tech fans that doesn't recognize we aren't on LSU level, hell im a season ticket holder for LSU, but to not recognize how bad LSU was during that time and how good Tech was is ignorant. That's only time period Tech could legit make argument they had upper hand in state for football.

I don't get all the hate between the LSU and the other instate schools in Louisiana. They don't really compete with each for players or titles. I always root for the small Louisiana and Mississippi schools when they don't play LSU.

I don't either. I get it between the Techs, ULMs, and ULLs of the state because we are all pretty much competing on the same level, but I will never understand why there needs to be hatred between LSU and these schools. LSU could be a resource for athletic programs at schools like Tech if a player just doesn't work out at LSU for either not being good enough for SEC or other reasons as a transfer option, but unfortunately their is a group from both fan bases that insist on hating one another, and I will never quite understand it.

Ho Lee shite. I've never seen that kind of stupidity from that many people at one time ever. You'd think that somebody on that board would have enough sense to tell them to shut the frick up and stop making fools of themselves

I am a LA Tech graduate. Got a brick with my name on it. LSU is the football program in Louisiana. I want to see Tech win as long as its not LSU, I can never see a time when any other Louisiana state university remotely challenges LSU in recruiting or any other facet of their respective football programs.

I truly like Tech, but I do not think one interferes with the other in that Tech and the other state programs are not on the same level as LSU.

Did a college shopping visit, on departing , my Daughter said Tech was 13th grade. Not an overwhelming endorsement.

It's also funny they said Dixon was better as a freshman.

Imagine if Fournette got to play this schedule:

Houston
Rice
Illinois
Virginia
UNLV
Texas A&M
Idaho
New Mexico State
UTSA
Texas State
Utah State
San Jose State

Would have had 1500+ easy.

well that's not really true. It's a decent school and their grads make good money. Hell my HS friends who went to Tech were way better college students than I was at LSU

ETA: Tech understands where their strong programs are and do a good job of focusing on them academically.

those Tech teams in 96-98 would have pushed LSU's shite in.

'98 wasn't a great year, but LSU beat AU, a common opponent Tech lost to.
Get over it, cuz Tech is ofer vs LSU since 1900s iiirc

My bad for not making a more clearer statement. My daughter was there to see the Engineering Dept and the USAF ROTC people. Her comment was directed more toward what she perceived as a vibe. Had nothing to do due with academic qualities. I work with Tech Grads and they are very qualified at what they do.

Now they are suing dumb as shite about Fpurnette getting burnt out and asking coaches to limits his carries.

fricking ridiculous

Also co pairings Dixon and Fournette stats year by year as if Dixon faces even a relatively good defense each year

My older brother played freshman basketball at NLSC (Northeast, later NLU, now ULM after caving in so Southwestern could become ULALA). Went to see him play when I was young in a game at LA Technical College at Ruston. Big fight broke out, somebody turned off the gym lights, and when they came back on, some guy had another down on the floor beating the hell out of him with his shoe, Mid-East style. Great experience for a 10 year old, indeed.

Never liked Tech when I was 10, nor now. Arrogant bunch of pricks.

Yall should have been at the NLU/Techster game at Tech in 1987. I have never seen so many "grown" men acting like a bunch of little girls in my life. I believe that score was 44-7 with NLU winning.

The shift in opinions on that board over the last few months has been huge if you follow the thread. Now they think he is LF is incredible... I was reading it earlier today as I get some good info on new local businesses on the site.
Most latech fans are very down to earth, and the locals love LSU just as much if not more. In my experiences it's the ones from out of state that typically have LSU hate. No reason for locals like me to not love both. With small children I find Ruston to be a perfect place for me to live in state. Of course my 7yr old son thinks New Orleans and Baton Rouge ( both where we visit family often) are the greatest places on the planet to be outside of Vegas lol,but I like living where we are just fine
