Living in Ruston I have to deal with these idiots every day. I have always said Tech has the most delusional fans in the country and this proves it
Just being completely honest those Tech teams in 96-98 would have pushed LSU's shite in. Crowton had Tim Rattay and Troy Edwards getting after it. Other than those years I don't see it.

You guys need to lay off these La. Tech. People. They must be right because all the pundits think Dixon is leading in the Heisman race

I watched some of Dixon's videos. He is pretty good for the conference they are in. He gets good blocking and his team will throw the ball so he is not looking at 8-9 in the box.
He may start at a lower tier SEC school but would be fourth string at others. Todd McShay has him listed as the 5th running back in this years draft. I think that is a stretch. The quality of the opponent you play against means a lot too.

Tech has done a a good job of improving its football program. Dixon and their transfer qb driskill are good ball players who could play for most football teams. That being said they are not having a good year even though their schedule figured to be pretty weak. The ULL game should be interesting as they beat Ull pretty bad last year. They actually do pretty well on their little budget and with nearly half the students as Ull. Too bad they don't play ULM as it would be the biggest rivalry game in louisiana in my opinion. But no one in college football is as good as fournette and most of the posts sound rediculous because they were posted before the season started.

Imagine that, LA Tech thinking they're better than someone at something. The Tech fans I know are pretty arrogant.

Right. A post made in July. Fournette wasn't what he is now last year.
At the time posted, these were the stat comparisons:
Fournette: 1034 yards, 10 TD, 5.5 avg
Dixon: 3511 yards, 61 TD, 5.8 avg
Is it that wrong for some fans of a certain school to think that their RB putting up those ridiculous numbers might be better than Fournette at the time?
I'm a Tech grad. Yes, there are plenty of retarded Tech fans, just like there are plenty of retarded LSU fans. But most Tech fans are also LSU fans or at least can appreciate LSUs place in CFB.

Best response I have read on TD in a long time! Well done.

Tech has already grabbed 2 moral victories on the season. Can LSU say that?
And let's not forget the moral victory opportunity against Miss State in October. Big things happening in Ruston.

I have a lot of ties to Tech and can say that while delusional, the true Tech fans are pretty die-hard. I think it's good for them to get behind their athletics because I do see a lot of potential there. I'm giving them a break here being that the posts were from July. I hope they've changed their tune after last week

As a Tech grad, I went for a top quality education and the opportunity to play baseball. However, these people are crazy! There is a contingent of alumni that truly believes that if it weren't for LSU taking all the money, that Tech could be just as big.
Ultimately, the hate for LSU isn't even close to the hate for ULM and ULL. Tech is trying to establish itself as the 2nd best school in the state in regards to athletics. Their goal is to get to a VA/ VA Tech-like rivalry, in which two schools can be competitive in most sports. Unfortunately, Tech just isn't there yet. They have fallen off in basketball, not been relevant for a long time in baseball, and football has been fair-to-middling. Track is still competitive, but they need a big three sport to make a step up.
The game day experience has grown by leaps and bounds since I was there, and with stadium and facilities improvements across the board, coupled with new department buildings on campus and a growing town, the foundation is complete. Now they just need Skip Holtz to bring in some winning teams.
The baseball team is getting better under a second year head coach in Greg Goff. I would like to see them renew an in-state series, Home/Home or weekend that alternates over the years with LSU. This died when Wade Simoneaux didn't get the LSU job after Skip left. (Thank goodness because he was horrible)
Regardless, these people need to stop acting like LSU isn't the flagship university for our state and start embracing the fact that they can utilize LSU to further their national brand through collaboration.

This is a preemptive assertion. I told you guys that if our players begin to get more exposure up here, they will not play nice. There is already a generated scoff because our db's are more highly regarded going into the season than those at "DBU". If our rb steals the limelight, it will get ugly. That's the kind of thing that hurts their instate strangle hold, and they have to maintain the assumption that they get the best players.
I refuse to accept that they actually believes these things.

Pathetic......just, pathetic
Posted on 9/24/15 at 10:37 am to GEAUXLA16
They have become as pathetic as ULL fans. Some of those clowns actually believe it's the media and the legislature who are keeping Tech down while propping up LSU.

I remember last year i was listening to the Ragin Cajuns radio station & they were saying they could beat LSU in Tiger stadiun.
The sad thing is the fans were calling up confirming it.
