Doesn’t matter that it doesn’t make money. With Title IX LSU has to have basketball to balance out the women’s sports. Why not get a good coach. When Sue Gunter & Pokey were coaches LSU was consistently good and putting butts in the stands. If women’s basketball can break even that is a good thing

Well, the women Techsters have had their own arena in the cow pastures of Ruston for almost forty years starting in their flash in the pan years. Can’t point to how it’s made a difference. Men’s basketball could use an upgrade.

It’s not the attendance that makes a program profitable it’s the TV revenue. Tv contract for WBB can be much $$$

The same people screaming to hire Mulkey, who would command most likely a record setting contract to pry away from Baylor, won't even watch a wbb on tv much less attend one. Maybe tune in for the championship game if it's convenient.

Yep... and then downvote you even thought hey know you're 100% correct.

Missy Bilderback, Jones County Junior College, Ellisville, Ms.
She has been a winner at every level she has played/coached at.
She took the Nw State job last year and returned to Jones (COVID and family reasons).
Quality coach for a lot less $$ than Mulkey.

Within 3 years, she can make LSU a Final 4 / natty contender. A trend which will continue throughout her tenure as head coach.

Kim Mulkey on the Culotta show...

Let me ask you this. If they hire someone for $2m or $100k is a dollar from your bank account going to change? Are you going to get a rebate with a cheap hire or have to pay more for whatever with an expensive hire?

I donate 6 figures to LSU every year, mate

Well than you are one stupid mother fricker which makes me discount your posts even more.

And while women's sports lose money, we can't get rid of them altogether because of Title IX so our best option is to make them lose less money by winning and also increase our positive press.

Finally we have a situation before us to be one of only a few where the womens basketball program makes a positive financial impact towards the athletic department.

Woody has the chance to make a big splash hire.

Woody can change our Title IX image with this hire.

Woody, along with TAF, can make this happen.

LSU has a very, very unique opportunity in front of them

1. We have the opportunity to hire a HALL OF FAME coach - in her prime.
2. She's 58, from Tangipahoa Parish, and she likely sees herself finishing out her coaching career in her HOME State
3. We would be natty contenders with in 3 years.

She's a winner

Few? There are literally none. And LSU wouldn’t become one either.

If everyone with a daughter was watching women's sports, the rating would be muuuuuuch higher.

Because they are not contenders for a National championship. There's a big gap between the elite program schools and those that are not. They are expected to make a run every year. The good ones have a huge crowds.

The same way we feel about LSU Baseball. We expect that they will not just make it to Omaha, but to be a contender to win it.

What’s the point in paying a bunch of professors (who are too stupid to do anything else with their lives) to teach gender studies and give kids worthless degrees?

If we’re going to “waste money” as a university, let’s hire 1 Kim Mulkey and cut 8 shitbag government leech professors who suck at their jobs.
