The SEC is in for a huge surprise if they think our D will some how play like the game everyone talks about. That's just funny, fact is LSU has a swagger and defense is instilled in this program. Steel will only improve our defense in the technical department and disguise his defense much better than Chavis bc Chavis never really disguised shite. Sacks should go up and TOs also. I can't wait until a&m realizes they have a lazy old coach that is really in it for the money at this point in his career. Nothing to prove bc he has a name. Steel has much to prove and I think he will do just that. I love all the negative talk bc I'm sure it's adding to his motivation to prove everyone wrong.

Really want Steele to prove everyone wrong.

Saban allowed him to call plays for Bama for one year only, I wonder why?

. LSU is a special place to coach; sooo much talent.
Explain then, or make excuses for, an 8-5 season.

Must be a problem somewhere if the program is loaded with so much "Talent".

True. Lest we forget, lil Nicky got blown out by Utah in the Sugar Bowl. It happens but should not define a career. Steele gets a few good years and a couple NCs, everyone will forget the blowout at Clemson.

meh, he was also 6th on the team in tackles. we played 5 deep in the secondary most of the time. i'd take who's listed as a "starter" with a grain of salt

I love the difference in recruiting already. I'm sold on that difference.

"Saban allowed him to call plays for Bama for one year only, I wonder why?"

Because he's a little general control freak?

He may have only "officially started" 2 games last year, but he was on the field just as much or more than some of the other returning starters on D. We were in sub packages at least 50% of the time, and Adams was on the field in those packages. He was on the All SEC Freshman team and a Freshman All American. He's 1 of the best players on the team. He's considered a returning starter.

The same was said for Maleveto.

There seems to be a lot more talent in the 2 deep on this roster, tho. Steele has no excuses for poor results

That Clemson defense was young. An article from a Clemson site was even linked on here after Steele was hired which said the best case scenario for their D that season was top 40 in the country.

Not to mention Clemson had a bunch of TOs against WVU, including a fumble returned 99 yds for a TD and Tajh Boyd coughing the ball up on consecutive plays.

People act like Clemson lost because Steele's base defense was the Gator Flop.
