LSU/ULL 3 game championship series in Omaha? I'd take off work and go.

I would love for that to happen but I don't think either team is built to go all the way this year.

Omaha is drawn out long enough you only really need two great starters which lsu has. Of course if we get into the losers bracket its probably curtains.

Yeah, I'm not worried about ole miss as we can take them out ourselves. And i feel Miami has lost a national seed already as the ACC already has two combined with the canes being 0-2.

I agree...lsu's primary obstacle right now is Rice (and cal poly)

I think TCU is definitely getting a national seed, so that only leaves one left for rice/LSU/calPoly

That would be wild.

If the Cajuns are in Omaha, I'll be there. I can't miss out on that.

i went last year for week 2. Had to pick a week and obviously picked the wrong one since LSU went 0-2. This year if we make it im going week 1.

our biggest issue is our lack of a 3rd starter. If we lose one game we would be done. While we didn't have great 3rd starters int he past our previous championship 09 and last year (if we didn't collapse in Omaha) we had decent 3rd starter and great 1 and 2. We have a bullpen guy start game 3 and we piece together all the other innings.

Yeah, I already decided on week 1. It would be hard coming home if we were still in it after that week but I can't take the chance of missing out completely.

I don't understand how Ole Miss is seemingly so far ahead of us. They finished 1 game ahead, we won the series.

They played 1 weekend series on the road vs. Stetson to open season. Only notable OOC opponent was UCF, who they swept at home with an RPI of 48. I guess that's the difference?

Seems like if they win today, tomorrow's game winner should get the nod.

i had planned on heading to omaha if lsu made the championship..... kind of bittersweet... didn't get to go at all but, kind of glad i didn't with the way the team played.

if we win the tournament our rpi will be higher than Ole Miss's. In fact it probably will be after tomorrow if we beat them.

It was my first year in Omaha last year for the CWS, I was there all summer, so I went to a bunch of games at TDA.

I went the full 2 weeks in 2009. If I had to pick the first or second week, I recommend waiting til week2 to go. It would suck to go for the first week and have to leave with your team still playing the most important games.

All that said, week1 is cool given 8 different fanbases.

It's a cool experience either way, but I think getting to see a champipnship (especially if it's your team) far outweighs the Pro's of assuring seeing your team in Omaha week1.

What are the records vs RPI top 25, top 50, top 100?

lsu has a bad record against top 25. 5-8. if they win the tournament though it could potentially get as high as 10-8. That's if they beat state in the finals and state moves into the top 25. lot of moving parts.

Take a look at the RPIs of the teams we played non-conference. That's the difference.

Same here. The off days got to be kind of pain after a while, but I wouldn't trade that trip for anything. I'll be there again this year as long as we are.
