re: Kirk Herbstreit just said Kiffin will 100% not be in BR next year - JPLSU1981
There's not odds out on LSUs OC search, but I'd imagine Kiffin would be by far the odds favorite at the moment. Anyone that thinks it can't happen are just being silly, of course it can and might.., at the moment, it appears pretty likely....

re: Fl Atlantic rumors much too early to rush to judgment, but - JPLSU1981
I'd be shocked if Kiffin went to FAU, but I was also shocked when LSU hired Orgeron, so who the hell knows anymore. Looks to me as an outsider that Lane Kiffin will be LSUs next OC...

re: Gilbert, Canada, Helfrich - USA Today - JPLSU1981
I used to be ok with it as well (fired HC back to OC), but after Cameron (fired HC back to OC), Crowton (fired HC back to OC), Kragthorpe (fired HC back to OC)... I'm ready to go away from that pattern. Granted, Krags was a weird one because he never truly became LSU OC, but nonetheless you get m...

re: Gilbert, Canada, Helfrich - USA Today - JPLSU1981
Yeah, I'm personally not interested in Helfrich either. Not a fit here IMO or a fit for what O wants going forward. I'm also tired of hiring "fired" coaches ... Steele, Cameron, Kragthorpe, Crowton (Helfrich would be another). As someone pointed out above, how about let's hire someone that is cur...

re: Question about Andy Cannizaro - JPLSU1981
People who want PM fired are nuts.
Agreed. But whether it's unrealistic expectations or not, it is what it is. The pressure is certainly on PM to make a run in Omaha. Whether right or wrong to have those expectations is certainly up for debate, but the expectations at LSU ba...

re: Question about Andy Cannizaro - JPLSU1981
AC is a very well-thought-of coach. He quickly became a darling of many LSU fans. Certainly a rising star in college baseball coaching circles. While he had zero chance of getting the LSU job without first taking a HC job and having success, there have been a growing number of fans voice that they'd...

re: Les Miles just reported as leading candidate for the USF Job...or not - JPLSU1981
I may be proven wrong, but I would be surprised to see Les take a job this year. He can sit at home and collect 1.5 to 2 million a year. How much would USF pay him? It won't be near the 4+ he was making here. Even if it's 2 million per year he'd almost be working for free.
Bingo....

re: bonus points - JPLSU1981
Priority points - regular ranking, includes all dollars given to TAF, including Trad fund donation associated with season tickets Phil - does not include any donations associated with season tickets. So this is a "pure donation" ranking... you don't get any benefit here for having tickets for yea...

re: Penn State in either OSU or Washington Out - JPLSU1981
I think you can easily make an argument that Penn State belongs in the top 4 instead of Ohio State.
I think the tougher argument is how to put OhioSt in over Penn State... IMO Penn St is in... Washington or OhioSt are battling for the final spot...

Committee's position on FSU over Louisville? - JPLSU1981
With Clemson nearing a berth in the College Football Playoff, the CFP committee will likely choose either Florida State or Louisville to fill the ACC champion’s usual Orange Bowl spot. While both FSU and Louisville are both 9-3 and present strong cases – the Seminoles have won four straigh...

re: Why Was LSU Ranked So High to Start the Season? - JPLSU1981
We were ranked appropriately IMO. LSU should be 11-1 right now and ranked about #4-8, regardless of coach. ...

re: Top Reasons for an LSU vs. FSU Matchup - JPLSU1981
Florida State is already ranked higher than Louisville
Which is really odd to me. I realize Louisville finished with 2 losses, but... -same record 9-3 -Louisville has better conference record 7-1 vs 5-3 -Louisville routed FSU like 100-0...

re: All is very quiet on the "what bowl are we going to" speculation front... - JPLSU1981
Looks like Citrus vs Louisville or Outback vs Nebraska Since you mentioned it, though, can someone tell me why Florida State is ranked ahead of Louisville? Same record (9-3), Louisville has better conference record (7-1 vs 5-3), and Louisville beat FSU like 100-0. I would really like LSU-FSU i...

re: A final desperation plea for the Sugar Bowl - JPLSU1981
Even if we had won against Florida, AU still has a better case for making the Sugar than we do.
Had LSU beat Florida, we were a lock for the Sugar. You know Auburn has 4 losses right? (Clemson, A&M, Georgia, Bama). LSU really has no one to blame but themselves not getting it done...

re: For the good of the SEC LSU needs to go to the Sugar Bowl - JPLSU1981
Posted this on the rant, but I'll copy here... If Alabama wins the SECCG, Florida, Auburn, LSU, A&M, and Tennessee all finish the season with 4 losses. Unfortunately, one of these 5 undeserving teams will play in the Sugar Bowl. Per SEC rules, the team that ranks the highest in the final CFB Play...
