I respectfully disagree and think it has absolutely no bearing on where we are.

Your post seems pretty spot on. Lsu has a lot of positive and negatives going for them; eammon Brennan continues to call them the most interesting bubble team he has covered at bubble watch. Need to beat a & m this weekend.

As a fan, this has been an extremely frustrating year. Lsu should not be a team struggling to get in the tournament. You see the individual talent but they haven't quite clicked as a team (especially odd considering their best player is as unselfish as they come). Defensively, we are really bad. Again, especially frustrating considering the athleticism and individual talent some of our guys display.

Which is exactly what the committee will do

Good debate is nice, but rare on this site.

LSU is 15-9 overall, and 3-7 away from home. Not many marquee wins, and a few bad losses. That isn't a strong tournament resume. LSU's biggest resume builder is the SEC record (8-3) and SEC standing (T-1st).

The committee can not, and will not white wash LSU's pre-Christmas performance. The injury/eligibilty angle may give them a nudge, and a slight boost, but LSU won't be seeded as a 10-4 team.

Since LSU got all their players back, they are 11-5. 3 of those losses were on the road against top 30 RPI teams. Another was against the then #1 team in the country at home. The only "wtf loss" was against Wake Forest.

Against Houston we lost in OT without Patterson and Victor

Against Marquette we lost by 1 without Hornsby and Victor

Against NC State we lost in OT without Hornsby and Victor.

Call me crazy, but all 3 of those would be wins had they been healthy. People want to dismiss that and say "a loss is a loss", but if we were 18-6 we would probably be a 5 or 6 seed currently. So don't talk about how bad we are with our talent, when our talent missed SEVERAL key games

I don't think anyone is saying they will completely ignore our bad early losses. But I think it's safe to say they'll look at them as they should... Not ENTIRELY indicative of the quality of our team. I think we all agree we need a couple more marquee wins and no more really bad losses to cement an at-large bid.

But the difference is that we also have no bad losses, and all of our losses in the SEC are on the road against the top of the league. Sure, it would have been HUGE to snag a victory, but we've lost a couple of extremely tough games.

Personally, I think the eye test goes into a lot of the committee members ruling. Watching LSU vs Okie, UF, USC...we lost all those but battled, competed, and you can tell we are a quality team that would draw MASSES in the tourney.

Unless we got 4-3 and bounced early in the SECT, I think we get in. Either by 12-6 in conference and winning 1 or 2 in the tourney, or 13-5 in conference.

How are people downvoting you because someone says we are in the NCAA Tournament?

There are people that would rather be right and LSU, more specifically a Johnny Jones coached team, miss the tourney than be wrong and them make the tourney.

Scary part is we still have a couple chances for both

Hornsby is the only consistent player at guard. I can't call Tone consistent yet. Not after his start in league play.

I don't get how you can call Hornsby consistent based on league play in comparison to Tone

Also, Lunardi's bracketology has a GREAT breakdown of each team if you click on them.

For instance, Indiana is an 8-seed and is 1-1 vs top 50...LSU is 2-4 and 3 of those losses on the road. It would have been awesome to win, but going on the road playing a top school is difficult as Hell to win.

Lsu's injuries are not an excuse for all of their losses. Do we not get to count the vandy win since they were missing a key guy? That is one of the best wins on lsu's resume. All teams have injuries. I agree that they should be taken into account but it does not mean those games don't count.

You also can't say Lsu lost close games without also then looking at their close wins. They barely beat Arkansas at home (Missed game winning 3 at buzzer), Georgia at home (meltdown in last minute), and Alabama on the road (came back and took the game at the end). They've won and lost close games.

An excuse? No

Does it come into play?

Well there is literally a link where a committee member is quoted saying that it will certainly come into play.

Not 1 person has said they don't count.

IF they make it, this team will get bounced first round...

This team has 1 one win against a good team...AM will smoke us Saturday, then LSU will proly feast on a few crap schools and barely make the field

Thanks for clearing that up. I'll just stop watching, in that case.
