I bet if someone asked Les to donate the $50k or so to send the band to Washington or Tuscaloosa he'd do it in a heartbeat.

LaTech, Ulala, Tulane, Western Carolina, Appy State, Arkansas State. Yep, that's worth every penny.

Now for another good PR move, if those tickets are available you get Miles, Mainieri & Johnson to do what they did during the basketball post season talk about looking like a university that stands as one for all their programs

I'm not sure if this game is a sellout or not. However, if we did not notify the Washington admin that we would need a block of 50 tickets for the band, it is a dead issue!

thats pretty selfish

maybe, but part of what I pay for has to do with the experience the band helps bring. It really won't hurt the LSU athletic department budget wise to let the band go. Its even worse that they aren't letting the full band go to a road game

get emmeret (spelling) to have bill gates pay for the band

In the past we have had 50 piece pep bands. It would work just fine.

i actually feel bad for the UW fans. i know some good people in sea town who were looking forward to seeing/hearing the band. its a big part of the LSU experience.

I don't understand though.....why can't we donate to get the band up to Seattle? Is that not an option still?

Stay tuned ... let's see what the Athletic Department says about our idea to get a donation drive started. It would certainly help if we had their consent and help in that process. We could raise the money, but if they don't help with the logistics of it then it would do no good to raise the money.

Let's see what they say, and then go from there. The ideal scenario is we set up a website soliciting donations, LSU sends out an email to everyone that bought tickets through LSU for the Washington game letting them know about the site or donations process, and then go from there.

I may be wrong, but I don't think raising the money will be an issue. I think we could raise the money in a week or two. It's the logistics of actually reserving the rooms, getting the block of tickets, arranging for bus transportation, etc.

FWIW, there are a lot of us out here that feel the same way you do. I'd cough up $5 to $100 if it meant the pep band could go.

Keep up the fight....

I'm obviously biased due to having been in it years (and years...and years...ect) ago, but you don't have a clue about LSU football if you call it just a fricking band.
Secondly, if anyone doesn't think LSU has the money to send the band to Mississippi and Alabama (only one of the biggest games of the season due to Nick Satan), you really are naive'.
