One thing that I've noticed about Hawthorne is that everything is on the corner. Even when a pitch is right down the middle, it "catches the outside corner for a strike."

I know that's nitpicking but it just always irritates me for some reason. I can't explain it.

Please give it up already. The man makes so many calls, he is bound to miss occasionally. Love Jim and he loves LSU. Tape yourselves calling a ball game and see how well you do...especially basketball.

At least it wasn't Ellicks Bregman hitting the ball to the second sacker.

They're being mean but entirely factual about somebody at LSU.

THIS THREAD MUST BE ANCHORED!

I have to admit that I have a guilty pleasure of hearing Jim in big plays. He gets excited just like we all do.

When I have to work while LSU is playing, he's all I got in catching the game.

The others are all "meh". Although Charlie has gotten better. I still crack up at his "strike three called" outburst after reading about it here.

Sorry to point out your flaws and upset you Jim but eyesight and math are a part of your job!

For example one of your many idiotic calls these two as I was driving back to Baton Rouge during the Washington game. After a touchback Washington had the ball on their own 20. Goes to 3rd and 3 on the 27 and your call Jim was sweep around the right end running back crosses the thirty and knocked out of bounds on the 32........... then you say I cant understand this the ball is spotted right on the 32 and the referee is not calling for a measurement he just signaled first down how can he do that with a call that close.............Jim when did the rule change to 12 yards required to make a first down.

Later on LSU on the Washington 40 and penalized for a personal foul and the ball marked back to LSU 45. Your call Jim ........... Tigers penalized back to their own 45 holy cow that is a 25 yard penalty how can they do that!..........Jim how is going from the opponent 40 to your 45 yard line 25 yards? Feel free to pull up the game and listen for yourself Jim! Sorry I know many will overlook your prodigious amount of mistakes because you "bleed purple and gold" but the actual job of announcer is to accurately report plays you sadly fail there!
