From what I understand Kentucky talked a lot of shite all weekend. I’m actually glad to see our players give some of it back to them.

Does his head coach sound concerned?
quote:

“I sensed an awesome focus with Jared today,” Johnson said. “I had a good gut feeling that he was locked in and ready to go. On the second homer, he got on top of a fastball and hit it a mile. That was impressive; he’s becoming such a good player and I’m really proud of his development.”

LSU has had some pitchers that looked to "ready set go" when they're out there.
Hasty, not being one of them, sheesh!

Those that don't understand likely were never baseball players or cared enough to be extremely competitive. Baseball's match-up of pitcher VS hitter is pure 1 on 1 competition. You're at thatplate alone and when you "win" an at bat in the way he did with circumstances the way they were, of course the kid is gonna explode emotions. Its human nature. Even the greats we lore as bastions of sportsmanship had an emotional outburst or two. Funny how the old heads came up with these unwrittens but apparently never got upset when someone broke them. Get real

I sure would like someone to post a gif or video of it since I’m way out in the woods and haven’t seen it.

Your explanation is a good one, and it’s mostly correct, but not this part. The kid absolutely did something wrong. Yelling FYP. FY is wrong. Period. It was funny. I laughed. But it was still wrong.

You quick a guy twice in a close highly contested game and series… you’re gonna get some blowback from a guy who hits bomb down 2 strikes.

If you’re Johnson…You talk to Jonesafter the game and explain why we don’t want to make this a habit going forward and move on and I’m sure that’s what he did and then patted him on the back and gave him an attta boy..

We talk shite every weekend as well. How some people think we don’t ever talk shite unless the other team starts it is crazy

This isn’t hard.

There are two truths

1. It isn’t a big deal

And

2. He acted like a douche

We have all been there and acted like a douche at times. You just kinda admit it and move on.

I think Everyone understood. UK were a bunch of classless douchebags all weekend.

If they could I’m sure they’d bay flip burns. They act like 2021 Tennessee but at least Tennessee was going cool stuff before rubbing it in people’s faces.

I honestly think our fans need to watch our own team a little more. The posing and dance motions etc is very douche bag behavior. Everyone does it with this generation. Is what it is

I can get on board with it being somewhat inappropriate just because of the word choice. But I don’t think it makes it wrong.

If he’d have yelled something “Hell yea, boy. Hell yea.” Nobody would be talking about this.

If Skenes pitched against us this website would melt. His stare downs would have people in a frenzy

Our team is cocky as hell and talks shite from the very beginning.

I mean this is from the tiger rant article I understand I’m an old man in need of running kids off my lawn, but college baseball has become like softball with all the dance routines and stuff they do

Ive watched replay of these moments hundreds of times, and I can’t find the moment where the batter yelled at the pitcher:

Kirk Gibson Game 1 WS Home Run off of Dennis Eckersly

Joe Carter WS Winning Home Run off of Mitch Williams

Warren Morris CWS Winning Hime Run off of Robby Morrison

Brad Cresse CWS Winning Hit off of Justin Wayne

Over the last 10-15 years, athletes have spent all of their energy taunting their opponents where as in the past there was a lot more celebrating with your team mates. Social media has a lot to do with it. But it’s the adults that excuse the behavior that allowed it to grow.

Skip Bertman used to tell his guys to focus on their job and how they can help their team accomplish their goals. If they want to focus on their opponent and what they are doing, they can go play at Vanderbilt (before they were good) because that’s how teams like that act.

“Let the kids have fun”. Does someone want to tell me that the LSU teams under Skip Berryman didn’t have fun because they didn’t toss a bat in the air?

LOL. I've about had it with dweebs telling me that if I've never taunted an opposing player then I've never competed. BS! I didn't have to taunt. My play spoke for myself. What Reese did was wrong and what Jones did was wrong. Period.

There are certain things everyone does that I a Willing to accept. How often and what they do those things for is different.

Throw in pitching their Friday night pitchers game 2, the 50000 mound visits they’re just a tiky tak team who wants to act like they’re big time. frick em

Correct. Meanwhile, many of those that excuse it lament the general coarsening of society.
