For those who still don’t get the Jones situation

Quick pitching is one of those unwritten no nos in the game of baseball. It’s a bush-league move. Doing it once during an AB is a bitch move, doing it twice on back-to-back pitches is straight up disrespectful. Think A-Rod screaming “I got it” on an infield pop up, but it gets dropped. Or, more fitting given UKs HC, screaming a base number to confuse a fielder in the midst of a crucial play in the game.
Naturally, Jones was bottling up some well justified anger given the scenario. To then get time granted by the ump and take the very next pitch (which the pitcher still tried to quick pitch him on) 453’ to dead center, the kid is naturally going to have an explosion of emotion and a feeling of vindication. We can debate whether the actions were appropriate (I loved it), but it’s no different than the shite everyone loves in football after big plays in big moments.
So all you bitching about his actions and saying shite like “he needs to be suspended”, kindly remove your tampon, and go frick yourself. Kid did nothing wrong.

Thanks for clearing it all up for us

I really don’t care that he did it like I don’t care about angel reese taunting, it’s competitive sports all kinds of emotions are involved. Sometimes the heat of the moment gets the best of you which is why I can care less. The only people who care are the ones who never competed

He was already frustrated by the called strike 3 on a pitch well off the plate on a previous at bat.

Add to that, it was a tight game and at a crucial spot with the series on the line. It was a boiler plate moment in the game.

Isn't that before the pitch clock? LSU has had some pitchers that looked to "ready set go" when they're out there.

No. Delay can be called both ways. If the batter isn’t set and ready by the time the clock runs out, it’s an automatic strike. If the hitter is taking too long, it’s more advantageous for the pitcher to let him. Quick pitching is attempting to sneak one by the hitter before he’s had a chance to get set in his stance and ready for the pitch. Nothing to do with the clock.
What you’re seeing is LSU pitchers taking the responsibility for the pitch clock off of them and putting it on the hitter.

Two wrongs STILL do not make a right. The bomb said enough. Sprint around the bases. Don’t give the umps a reason to get squirrelly.

I bet you drink Bud Light still.

Good times were when no one got offended for other people. I guarantee you Kentucky didn’t take it as personally as some of you softies did.

Just curious. Why did you start an entirely different thread to reply to a poster that started another thread?

I dont agree with the suspension but if he said what I thought he said from my TV living room lip reading I am surprised he didnt get tossed. It looked like he dropped an F bomb or two on the pitcher.

The pitcher turned and had a big smile when Jones ripped his arse. He knew he was being shitty, and when they get you he expected to get it back.

He said, "frick you pussy, frick you." These aren't 10 year olds playing baseball.

1. Because I wanted to
2. Because it’s clear some individuals don’t understand what happened and why Jones was angry
3. Because too many on this board don’t understand the emotions that come with competition at that level
4. Because I wanted to

Not many people are saying he should be suspended, that why that post has 450+ downvotes. Some people don’t like what he did and that’s fine. I personally don’t care and thought it was hilarious. But I also don’t get all riled up when other teams like Tennessee do it to us. It’s high level competitive sports, there is going to be shite talking on both sides. I think fans should just not worry about it to be honest.

He got quick pitched once. And not really on the first pitch of the at bat or the homerun. If you are gonna try to be the beacon of light on the situation, at least get it right. He got quick pitched on the 2nd pitch of the at bat and got upset about that one.

Wow. If people don’t like it, it’s their opinion to like or not like it.
I was not able to watch the game, but I saw the replay. Doesn’t bother me.
To say he needs to be suspended? We do have some anti fans here. Nobody hates LSU players, like LSU fans.
