They were not TRUE FRESHMAN..
How hard is that to understand?? Seriously?
You mean one start on the road? One start.
JT Barrett of Ohio St had a terrible start vs Virginia Tech throwing 3 INTs AT HOME and they lost.. but he still got to continue on being their starter and launching a heisman campaign until his injury.
Kyle Allen got his first start vs an inferior ULMonroe.. AT HOME.. and looked pretty poor considering the competition and they barely eeked out a win. He then went on to beat A&m, but lose to Mizz and LSU.. but once they made they commitment they stuck by him because he is their future.. This was even after Kenny Hill was eligible to return to playing.. they stuck with their more talented true freshman.
I wish Harris had been given another chance to redeem himself after one bad road start, but he never was.. and we still lost 4 games under Jennings.

Don't try to push for Harris they'll be some genius in here to tell you he didn't know the playbook and didn't work hard.
Makes sense a coach would give a kid who didnt know the playbook his first start @ Auburn.
We will never know why he didn't get more opportunties.
Only Answer is ....bc Les Miles.

He didn't play the entire game genius. He lead us to our only score...and his stats are still higher than AJs for the season.
He played the majority of the game and didnt look ready.

All of what Soulja just said...and then some!

it wouldn't be an issue had the "opportunity" been treated the same as all of Jennings'.... it wasn't... it was Miles putting a true freshman in a position to fail and acting like he gave a serious, fair shot... it was meant to appease the fan base...
it was a win win for Miles... if Harris succeeds, the fan base is happy because we are winning and all that goes with it... if he doesn't, he gets to say to the fan base "see, this is what you wanted and it failed" and he can go with the guy he wanted all along (Jennings).... Miles is a very sly dude.... he's not stupid... he knew full well what he was doing putting Harris out there @ Auburn and why he didn't start him the week before at home vs. NM St....

accuracy of what?
Do you doubt the accuracy of my post?

Are you disagreeing that younger qbs are coming into college more prepared to play early?
no...I think they are more prepared, mentally and physically
your example is just retarded

Well I can't say I'm surprised a true freshman didn't exactly light it up in one of the most hostile environments in the conference against a top 10 team.
Not exactly a fair first test, no?

and then you went on to talk about young QBs...when a lot of them were not "young" QBs
they might have lacked experience, but they were no longer "young" in CFB standards
so don't act like it is us that lacks understanding

Harris was thrown to the wolves? Kinda like Jones vs Wisconsin?
He had the whole week to prepare. He said himself he wasn't working hard enough.
You guys aren't listening. I think Harris should have played more. Probably just have continued to start. But he was given a chance to take the job and he played poorly. Many of the other QBs yall mention played great in their first start.

So idiots in here consider this "having his chance" when in reality Jennings playing the entire game after running the ball 18-21 plays in a row and resulting in a 17-0 deficit would've resulted in the same final result.
Posted on 1/13/15 at 1:22 pm to GCTiger11
Fair? Was the Big Ten Title Game vs a much better Wisconsin team a fair shot?
Posted on 1/13/15 at 1:22 pm to Mickey Goldmill
Do you remember in that auburn game running the ball 18 of the first 21 plays and being down 17-0 in the first ? I do. The coaches didn't do any favors that game.

I've already learned that nothing will ever be BH's fault. If he doesn't get on the field it's coaching holding him back. If he plays and bombs then it's still coaching that can't "develop" him.
I'm wondering when did players stop taking responsibility for their own development. I have a hard time believing Peyton Manning would've been a bum QB had someone not "developed" him. The cream always rises to the top.
Maybe the guys we have just don't have "it." It's not like that some shocking statement, most college QBs just aren't that good.

Drew Brees could have been qb that game and we still weren't going to win
Considering the season the Saints had, that isn't a good example.
Try again.
