I'll be there, also for the first time, on 10/6. Maybe the enemy fans will take me in and offer me their (presumably) shitty tailgate food in since my wife is a Gator. Based on the comments here, though, I'm guessing not. :/

It's a military state when it comes to walking around with booze. The cops are real snotty too. Be polite and don't give them any crap. They throw people out of the stadium if too drunk and disorderly. Several ex players are now in uniform and are scary big. TGBFTL is always GREAT!!

Been there once and it was a horrible. As we are leaving the stadium the drunk students started pushing and some elderly lady was right in front and fell. Two other guys helped me get her upright but the students didn't care they were all drunk and continued to push. Had we not been there she would have gotten trampled to death. And as we are leaving the stadium going to our vehicle, we were call every possible nasty name and called Mother frickers and Son of a bitches that we need to go home and never come back......and they won LOL.

Just don't walk around with cans or bottles. If in a cup, you should be fine. If you're underage, watch your back at all times though. When I went there when I was underage, we drank out of McDonald's cups and not solo cups and I was fine. Just don't be overly obnoxious and draw attention to yourself and try your hardest to stay at your tailgate. Even as an of age person, watch drinking between the sidewalks.

I can't agree here. The UFPD are notorious...not only among Tiger fans, but all SEC fans...for seemingly going out of their way to make visiting fans' lives miserable.

Went in 2002, had a great time.

Remember staying at a shitty Knights Inn and it was right behind a Rally's or Checkers, can't remember which one. Can't tell you how many of those fries we had in those 3 days.

I hope we break it off in them this year. My worst tailgating experiences have been in Gainesville.

Wasn't impressed. Had a much better time in Tuscaloosa. UF fans are assholes and their cops are even bigger assholes.

Of course 2 mediocre seasons may have injected a bit of humility to the fan base.

I went in 2010 and had a great time. The fans and atmosphere was amazing. One thing that stood out to me was their campus was spotless after the game. It made me even more embarrassed about how LSU fans treat our campus on Saturday.

I went in 2008 when we played Florida, and I never will go back. Its a different place. Lots of jorts and blue wife beaters. Didnt enjoy it at all. Then again, we did lose by like 50 and my seat was on the isle next to UF student section. Man that was rough. I still have nightmares of Percy Harvin breaking a big play every other play.

I try to park as close to campus as possible and keep a ice chest in the car with cokes in plastic bottles and a fifth of Makers.

Should we just pack an ice-chest and walk around or what?

The first and last time I went to Florida, I had to bail my buddy out of jail for this exact reason. If you are on one side of the street you are fine, but if you go on the other side look out for police.

My experiences in Gainesville have been similar to previous posts, however, I went to our last game there, and they really have been taken down a few notches, to the point of almost being friendly and humble. They still don't know how to tailgate, parking is still sketchy, and cops are still dix.

Nice place, you'll enjoy. Go to the Ale House, good food and environment.
