Went in '96. Will never go back. Cops single out visiting fans for ANY infraction they can think up. Fans aren't just obnoxious, they're downright hateful. Students were spitting at us from the balconies of the bars across the street.

I live about 30 minutes outside of Gainesville, and I can only agree with those who hate it. It is an absolute shithole on gameday. Fans are mean, not even remotely friendly. Their tailgating sucks, in part due to their backwards stance on alchohol out there. It honestly sucks as a whole. Having said that, my family and I will be painted from head to toe in purple an gold , with an assorted of pimp hats, capes, and whatever odd purple apparrel we can find. it's awesome to beat them there.

I've been twice. Won one in 2005 and lost in 2006. Had a blast on both trips. I highly suggest you drive about 15 miles down the road and hit up the Riske' Cafe' (spelling may be wrong).

Other than that its like other SEC trips. If you looking for trouble it will find you.

As everyone else has said, pretty much everything about gameday at UF sucks in comparison to other places. Except for the stadium itself. Bars are ok and the location of them is nice but they're all so small they're packed on game weekends. Tailgating there is the worst among all the big SEC schools.

It's still a college football road trip though, so it will be awesome. And we're going to embarrass them so you won't have to worry about too much about the obnoxious fans.

stick to Gator City and Grog House if you are students. the best tailgating IMO is around the student union, though it is a little bit away from the stadium. stay away from the streets if you have a drink in your hand

Tailgating sucks

Did you hide in your hotel room?
Good tailgating has been hosted in the past by the Orlandeaux, Tampa, South Florida and other LSU Alumni groups. DJ, lots of food, lots of Tigers fans and the best part .... the band parks close and marches over to play LSU songs just for you! Go to Stadium Rd. behind the right center fence of the baseball stadium.
Not sure how that sucks.

Balls is small, but most of the bars are of average size. The Swamp and Gator City are bigger than any bars LSU has to offer, so I don't really get your point
