If we miss the tourney, you sticking by this statement? Just curious.

Lebron missed the playoffs his first two years in the NBA. Good thing they cut that loser and started over. He'll never be as good as Carmelo.

Relevant. Not even LeBron can carry 14 other people to the postseason. You need some help in basketball. Someone else needs to get a stop or rebound occasionally. The good news is Victor has shown up and taken some of that load.

I get all this but I'm simply asking...if we don't make the tourney this year (knowing we're only gonna have him this year), would he still be considered one of the 5 best players in LSU history.

Pre-knee injury John Williams was a beast.

Then why post in a college basketball thread where you obviously haven't watched much?

Anthony Davis couldn't shoot when he got to the league. Kawhi Leonard either

It is a very SAFE assumption Simmons will turn into a good shooter. He shoots 75% from the line

If he keeps playing at this level, absolutely. His living up to his billing and the rest of our team/coaching staff shitting the bed aren't mutually exclusive.

I get killed and accused of saying Pettit wasn't good. He was and is a legend. With that said, the competition level is not exactly the same

10x 1st team all nba while going up against guys like Wilt Chamberlain, Bill Russell & Elgin Baylor for a lot of his career. Suuuure, Big Baby could do that too.

How many teams got in back then? 16, 32? It's 68 teams now. Pretty sure LSU would have made the cut with a field that large.

My God, are you dumb enough to compare NBA playoffs of a lottery team to a team in college making the top 64?

I would like to know how he can be an ALL TIME LSU great and not make the post season tourney.

I will say that jones is holding him back. This team should be like the runnin Rebs of the 70s. He will be a much better pro than what he is in college. I still think he is not qualified to fill in the 5th spot though. To many other players to pick from. My personal pick would be macklin. But there is another name I have not seen in this thread. Leonard "swat" Mitchell. Stats don't mean everything.

He is a freakin awesome talent but if his team doesn't contend he doesn't deserve to be in the top 5. Should he be ahead of John Williams (go look at that team around him) or Rudy Macklin? At the moment .... Nope. That could change and I hope so but let's see before we just put him there.

Because people on this board want your approval, Peej.

Only LSU fans would hate on Simmons

LSU fans really are the biggest pieces of shite in college sports.

Also, Lebron and Simmons had nearly identical numbers coming out of HS. Ben's compeition>>>>>>>>Lebron's
