The last 2 years the stars aligned for ole Nicky. If there was ever a time when the SEC was down (SEC standards) it's been the last 2 years.

If this is true, then why does...

Yeah, I laughed at that one, too. It was too ridiculous to merit a response, though.

I told you they would be coming!

You must think this is an LSU forum where fans display a tad of respect/appreciation for the best 5 year period under one coach in our history without attacking said coach 24-7 over the same :beatdeadhorse: :beatdeadhorse: issues.

Wait.......it is an LSU forum.

My bad!

LSU fans will know more about Les Miles legacy after the 2010 season. What the fans think now means nothing. Its all sink or swim for Les and the crew.

Is it really? Your best 5 year period includes seasons of 8-5 and 9-4? Really?

If you can't respect the past, when there is one of note, there is little chance of you, speaking in general, respecting the future either. imo

I understand sports to be a what have you done for me lately thing, but to me that doesn't mean we disrespect what was done before to the point we search for ways to discredit the past so we can push it more easily out the door.

Under the same coach...yes.

Most wins...most 10 win seasons...best bowl record...best winning percentage...highest 3 year ranking period and so on.

Oh, and it included a lopsided beat down of some Big 10 team in a NC game.

Pretty neat, huh.

One of the big differences is the state of the program when the coach took over. When Miles took over LSU, the program was STACKED and left in great shape. His record has gotten worse over time and the program does not appear to be in as good of shape as when he took over.

Some of the other coaches took over programs that were struggling and had coaches that couldn't coach the exsting talent to win, and they turned it around, improved the players they had on the roster, brought in highly regarded players and things are still looking up for those teams.

Great coach??????

I have warned you about continuing to drink the "rolled back price" anti freeze from Wal Mart!!!

Great coaches are seldom on the hot seat much less make stupid errors that lose games for his hard fighting troops.

Maybe you will go when Lesticles is fired this year!

At the end of the 04 yr, LSU was 9-3, out of the west race by 10/2, drilled by Ga by 30, and not ranked in the top 15. We were the 3rd to 4th best team in the SEC and Saint Saban was out coach. What is so fricking stacked in that?

Not quite. I always pull for LSU to win. However, it is kind of hard not to notice that Miles is a very mediocre coach to say the least.

There are a couple things wrong with your post. First, play calling by Miles has gone wrong plenty of times. Secondly, if the stars have aligned for old Nicky the last 2 years, what was our 2007 NC? And yes, our program was in good shape and has declined to the past two years, but that's largely due to a failing defense and no leadership at QB. Other than that, I really see no reason not to compare Les with those other coaches. 2010 is the key.

The SEC as a whole is probably stronger now that it was in previous years. The problem is that the teams that were down were Auburn, Tennessee, and LSU.

Guess who Saban faces as the main challengers for the West title and his only yearly East opponent?

In 08 LSU was 7-5 in the regular season, 7th in the SEC, and unranked.

In 09 LSU was 9-3 in the regular season, 3rd in the SEC, and nationally ranked.

You see a 2 year decline in that???

Appears to me that 09 was in fact a rise from 08, but each to our own.

2010 will tell it all for Les Miles. Hope he does well but only this season will tell. After that no excuses!
